Nice lightly insulated Parka.

The North Face Sonic Stretch Insulated Jacket - Men's

The North Face Sonic Stretch Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 17, 2008

Pro's - Nice quality finish, Water proof / seam sealed, lighly insulated, breathable, mesh backed underarm vents, lots of pockets. Hood fits over ski helmet & zips off, hip length hem with waist powder skirt. This is a hybrid parka, with stretch fabric on the shoulders, back hem & elbow to cuff. The rest of the coat is a heavy weave ripstop. (looks durable.) I chose this over a North Face insulated soft shell (Odyssey) because it was more wind & water resistant,is a little trimmer fit, & has core venting. I wish this was as stretchy as the Odyssey, (As comfortable to wear.) but all around I think it will be a better ski jacket for colder & wetter conditions. I can't give it 5 stars because there is no neck collar cinch, & the linning is not as slippery as I like for layering in the arm area. (kinda grabby) Also after wearing the true softshell any hard shell feels a little clammy & restrictive.

Nice Parka, runs large

The North Face Odyssey Soft Shell Jacket - Men's

The North Face Odyssey Soft Shell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 14, 2008

Pro's, Warm, very stretchy & comfortable. Lots of great pockets. High soft collar. Large hood, fits over my xl helmet, adjusts well & zips off. Hip length cut, with waist powder skirt.
Tafetta lining slides over layers & is great for throwing on in a hurry. Two way front zip (Opens from bottom as well for ventilation.)

Cons, Medium size. Feels large & bulky for me. (5'10" 165 lbs.) Color was off, paler than site. The "Gold" was light yellow. I would add seam taping, mesh lined venting zips or ventilated underarms and a collar cinch to this for 5 stars.

North Face Elixer vest - (unlined softshell)

The North Face Apex Elixir Vest - Men's

The North Face Apex Elixir Vest - Men's

Perfect addition for layering, the vest is light, durable, and blocks the wind. Fit was as expected for the size I ordered. As it stretches well over a bulkier inner layer you can vary what you wear with it. For aerobic activity this vest is super, I have worn it over a active top, and as a wind block layer over my regular fleece vest and my PrimaLoft vest with great results.
