Marmot Tirol 30 Backpack - 1850cu in

May 1, 2009

That's not really the purpose of this pack. It's almost 2 lbs after all. You should be looking for something more along the lines of the Marmot Kompressor.

GoLite Pinnacle Pack - 4400cu in

April 24, 2009

I have the new Jam which is just a smaller version of this pack. There's plenty of room for a compact camera and snacks/musical instruments in the other.

Between Sizes - but Impressed Nonetheless

GoLite Jam 2 Pack - 3100cu in

GoLite Jam 2 Pack - 3100cu in

Rating for this product: 4 April 24, 2009

I purchased the Large and Medium packs to decide which fit best. My torso is about 19 inches but I have a large chest/shoulders. I seemed to be between sizes. The perfect pack would have been the medium torso length with the shoulder straps from the large pack.

The Large was slightly more comfy overall because of the longer shoulder straps but the torso fit could be better for me. For it's intended purpose of carrying no more than 15-20 pounds, the fit is fine though so I'm keeping the Large and returning the Medium.
I'm really impressed with the overall quality of this pack.

I'm Sold on these Keens

KEEN Venice H2 Sandal - Men's

KEEN Venice H2 Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 8, 2009

I love these sandals. Definitely size up by half. 8.5 fit great when I normally take an 8. I wore these a lot in Hawaii. They dry quickly but feel fine when wet, compared to other sandals that just feel yucky when damp. I would definitely buy another pair if I'm in the market.

Great for a Slide-on Sandal

KEEN Ormond Slide Sandal - Men's

KEEN Ormond Slide Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 8, 2009

For a slide-on sandal, these are very comfy and stable. Not as comfy as the Venice H2's I have but close. Size up by a half to maybe even a full size because they run small.

Vaude Tour 40 Pack - 2440cu in

August 22, 2008

19 x 11 x 7 according to Vaude's website. My guess is that it's actually a little bigger but should still meet carry-on restrictions. Vaude makes great packs.

Deuter Futura Zero 30 Backpack - 1850cu in

August 22, 2008

26 x 13 x 9 inches. Kind of tall for a 30 litre pack. If the airline makes you measure the pack, it won't likely pass, but then again, maybe they won't and you can just walk right on.

Huge pack

Macpac Traverse 35 Pack

Macpac Traverse 35 Pack

Rating for this product: 3 June 25, 2008

I received the size 3 in the mail - it's huge for a 40 litre pack. In fact, the top of the pack was like a headrest-which I hated. So I returned it. The quality of the pack is great though. I'd consider the size 2 (even though my torso length is 19") but don't want to chance the pack not fitting again.
