Edelweiss Onsight Arc Climbing Rope - 9.9mm

May 7, 2009

Can't decide between this rope and the Millet 9.8mm. Intended use: multi. heavy use. (mix of trad and sport, mostly trad without a ton a intended falls). Would choose the rope with the most durable sheath and softer catches.

arcteryx gamma mx pants

Arc'teryx Gamma MX Pant - Men's

Arc'teryx Gamma MX Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 February 13, 2006

Great fit and movement in these pants. The two thigh pockets are very useful on alpine climbs. The ability to order the long length is really nice for us taller folks. Seems like all the other companies our there are making pants for short, stocky folks. Anyway, I have one huge complaint about these pants—lack of durability. Scrambling up rock will shred these pants in no time. First use (ok if it’s Patagonia) and there are rips in the knees and ass. Hard to swallow on new top dollar duds. If you do drop the money on these pants and want them to last, reserve them for ice climbing and steep mixed terrain, otherwise they will not hold up.

Abstract - Perfect climbing fit with really nice dual pockets. Nice for cool-cold climbing. Poor durability on rock.
