The North Face Got this one right

The North Face El Cap Delta - Men's

The North Face El Cap Delta - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 13, 2007

I usually stick with Mountain Hardwear, Arc'teryx and sometimes Patagonia but I bought the NF El Cap Delta first in size large which was to small. I was sent the XL in a short time and it is the bomb. Great quality, looks and fit (may want to go up a size). I now have two and if I could find the right color, I would get another. Nice and warm with no bulk.

Alchemy Jacket

Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 July 5, 2005

I bought it but realized it wasn't what I wanted because it was a little uncomfortable and stiff. The fit was not as athletic as advertised. It felt a bit bulky and I did not like the way the sleeves sealed at the wrist. I sent it back and bought an Arcteryx Gamma MX which is perfect.

Another great functional MH product

Mountain Hardwear Manticore Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Manticore Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 7, 2005

I first bought the Arcteryx Gamma MX Hoody but didn't like the fit, the lining or poor fit of the hood, so returned it. I replaced it with the MH Manticore. I love this jacket. It has a nice athletic fit with a snug waist and nice fitting hood. The softshell has a hardshell feel with the stretch of a softshell. I have not put it through a complete weather test but it does keep me warm and dry and is breathable in the conditions tested.

The Best money can buy

Arc'teryx Sigma SL Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Sigma SL Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 6, 2005

If you don't mind spending the $ for the Arcteryx Sigma SL you won't be disappointed with the quality and fit. I bought the Gamma light first but the XL was much too big the Sigma SL XL was a perfect fit.

Nice looking but not what I was looking for

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 June 6, 2005

Did not test it because out of the box I knew it was not what I was looking for. It is the typical MH excellent quality but to bulky in the midsection and the shoulders are too slopped. It does not have an athletic snug fit. The cuffs are too puffy and don't have a Velcro seal. But the worse is the neck cinch on the inside. When I tried it this thing drove me crazy in both the cinched and un-cinched position. I sent it back right away and ordered the MH Alchemy. I will review it after I have tried it out.
