Terrible design

CAMP USA Vector Balling Plate - Pair

CAMP USA Vector Balling Plate - Pair

Truly crappy antibots. Won't stay on, and don't work well with offset mono-point configurations.

Durability Issues

Salewa Firetail GTX Hiking Shoe - Men's

Salewa Firetail GTX Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 August 2, 2010

These shoes are comfortable, and are good for approaches, but they have some durability issues.
The rubber rand on the outside edge does not extend far enough. The shoes have a fabric rand that peels away from the shoe.
This rand began to fall apart on my first hike, and after 2 trips, it was peeling back badly.
The inside rand extends further, and protects the front of the shoe. They need to re-design it and make the outside rand also extend back further. The fabric rand just isn't durable enough. A couple miles over a talus field, and it's pretty much wrecked.

Cassin Turbo Stream Ice Screw

July 20, 2010

"all-aluminum construction to reduce weight and a stainless steel tip for razor sharp penetration and durability"

Pretty sure these are not aluminum. They also are not "seriously light."

Sized Really Big

SportHill Summit Tights - Men's

SportHill Summit Tights - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 7, 2008

I will add my voice to the chorus of folks talking about sizing. These are really big. Based on the reviews here, I ordered a size smaller than normal. I had to return and exchange them for a size 2 smaller than normal. I wear an Extra Large in just about every pair of pants. I have a really big butt and really big thighs. The size Large tights were way too big. I had to go with a size Medium.

Lightweight, compact warmth

MontBell U.L. Super Stretch Hugger #3 Sleeping Bag: 32 Degree Down

MontBell U.L. Super Stretch Hugger #3 Sleeping Bag: 32 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 July 26, 2006

This is a terrific bag. It is very lightweight and compact. The 32-degree temperature rating is quite conservative, and you could easily use this bag in colder temperatures. The bag is reasonably roomy and comfortable. It's good value too, when compared with bags of similar quality.
