The benchmark fleece jacket gets better

The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Men's

The North Face Denali Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 9, 2006

A couple of years ago I talked with someone who had one of these, and their glowing praise convinced me to buy. Well, it took me awhile but the wait was worth it. The jacket has been improved, and now features pitzips and front pockets. It is extremely comfortable, a lot warmer than you would think, and reasonably weatherproof. For an insulating middle layer, it is superb. TNF has added some logos on both the front and back so now everyone will know you are wearing one. I honestly can't think of anything wrong with this jacket.

Great lightweight tent

Black Diamond Firstlight Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Black Diamond Firstlight Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 June 23, 2005

If you’re looking for a lightweight tent, as opposed to a shelter, shop no further. Materials and construction are first rate, and set-up is easy. However, read the instructions before you attempt pitching! When set-up, the walls are tight and there is no flutter in the wind. Ventilation is good with a small window in the back, and a screened door in the front. The companion footprint, which fits the tent very nicely, is highly recommended as the floor of the tent is paper thin. With the footprint, you’re looking at 3.25lb total, which is about half a conventional tent of this size.

Black Diamond Firstlight and I-Tent Footprint

This footprint weighs 8oz and really should be considered a necessity with the Firstlight tent. It fits the tent very well. See my comments on the tent.
