Start by detuning and deburring the edges
- Tuning file
- Diamond stone
- Gummy stone
- A cup of water
- Vices or tuning stand (optional)
Base repairs – fixing divots and deep scratches with Ptex
- Ptex (black or clear)
- Blow torch or lighter
- Razor blade
- Vices or tuning stand (optional)
Hot Wax
- Waxing iron (a used one works but make sure it doesn’t have steam vents)
- Wax (all-temp or temp specific)
- Nylon or brass brush
- Scraper
- Base cleaner (optional)
- Vices or tuning stand (optional)
Scraping
- Scraper
- Scrubber sponge
- Vices or tuning stand (optional)
Edge sharpening
- Edge sharpener (get one with a guide so you don’t ruin your edges)
- Diamond stone
