Q. What brand
of four season tent would you recommend for four people? I have
looked at the MSR Stormking and the Mountain Hardwear Trango 4.
A. Hi Matt,
My two personal favorites are the Mountain
Hardwear Trango 4 and the North
Face Himalayan 47. They are almost identical in size and price
and on features too. I have used the Himalyan 47 in Alaska and it
preformed admirably. I have not personally used the Trango but have
checked it out closely and have to give it the nod over the North
Face tent for two reasons: it has 2 less poles, making it easier
to setup and it weighs almost 2 pounds less. It looks really nice
and I been told by folks that have used it on expeditions that it
does the job. Hopefuly I'll have the chance to try it out this Spring
