What is GORE-TEX® Pro Shell

The short answer: Gore-Tex® Pro Shell is lighter, more durable, and more comfortable to wear than its predecessors. It offers the ultimate in protection among Gore’s lineup of waterproof fabrics.

The longer answer: Gore-Tex® Pro Shell uses several unique constructions to create a fabric laminate (available in both 2-layer and 3-layer) that answers the needs of the most hard core backcountry skiers, climbers, and explorers on the planet. It’s engineered to be the most rugged, most breathable, durably waterproof and windproof fabric you’ve ever experienced. Pro Shell is designed to last – through outright physical abuse, as well as through extended exposure to the elements. On the inside, the GORE™ Micro Grid Backer lining sheds weight and improves internal abrasion and snag resistance, and enhances garment breathability.
