Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro Crampon

Item #BLD0490 | 56 in Stock

PRO version shifts badly with Spantik Boots

By Ranked #249 - Crampons January 14, 2010

PRO version of this Crampon is designed for AT boots -- it's too wide for even a large boot like Spantik.

I was really really interested in buying a pair of these until I read this review. How much of a problem is this MVE? Did you have a chance to field test this much or was it just an observation...I was planning to wear them with a pair of Spantiks as well and the Trango Extreme Evo Lights... Please let me know.

Might be a little late in responding to this, but for those interested in hooking the Sabretooth up with LS Spantiks, I recently found NO issues with fit when used directly on the Spantiks- or when using an overboot with the Spantiks (see image in my review above). I noted the above review before purchase, but after rigorous field testing on a Karakoram expedition I am only impressed with all aspects.
