Yakima Sprocket Rocket

Load your mountain bike or road bike onto your car roof with the Yakima SprocketRocket Fork Mount. The SprocketRocket's sleek skewer installs easily—you don't need tools—and fits both fat and skinny tires as well as most disc brakes. Remove your bike's front wheel and attach the fork to the skewer, then adjust the skewer's sliding wheel tray to position your bike's back tire. Secure your bike with the SKS-compatible lock (sold separately). Yakima gave the SprocketRocket an automotive finish so it looks spiffy on your vehicle—if that sort of thing matters to you.

Bottom Line: Secure your bike on your vehicle roof with Yakima's finest fork mount, the SprocketRocket.

Nice rack nice price

Except for how expensive it is this rack is probably the best. Looks good and holds mountain bikes with and without disk breaks.

Best Rack Around

By:
February 11, 2008

I've been hauling my bikes around on scads of different racks, and the SproketRocket has been the best by far. My bikes don't sway on this rack, even while hauling down the interstate at 80 mph. The adjustable cams allow for quick fitting and uber-easy loading and unloading, and a monkey could figure out how to install it. The lock cores are super easy to use, and keep creeps from swiping your steed. If you're questioning whether to buy this or go for a cheaper rack, compare a Camelbak vs. a hydration pack from Walmart. You won't be sorry you got this rack.
