Yakima Super Joe 2

Yakima has made the SuperJoe 2 to deliver two bicycles safely to the trailhead. Trunk mounted racks are easy to get to and offer an affordable alternative to roof rack systems. The SuperJoe 2 holds two bicycles to the tail end of almost any vehicle. Yakima Stable Cradles secure each bike while the six strap system ensures a solid fit of the rack to the car. The Quick Trigger Hub System makes the SuperJoe 2 easy to install or take off.

Bottom Line: SuperJoe 2 is the sequel with out equal.

Beware of gusty winds

I recently gave up my $20 bike rack to a friend who needed to drive cross country and thought I would upgrade. I found this rack to be much more complicated and had difficulty maneuvering the angle of rack with the outside triggers. While driving on the open road which was relatively windy I saw that the bike was bouncing. I pulled over and tightened the straps, but a few minutes later my bike was no longer visible. Luckily or unluckily, I had the front tire strapped to the frame and my bike was dragged along the road. I am definitely going back to my old rack where the straps go through the buckle and are less likely to flip off with jostling.

I got this bike rack after my old one failed me and dropped my bike on the highway! It was a cheap one and I've been wanting to replace it but now I am forced to get a new bike too. Needless to say it would have cost me a lot less if I had gotten this bike rack earlier! This bike rack is very easy to use and is secure. I've been very happy with the quality of the construction. Safety first!

Yakima super joe 2

I found the best deal on the super joe 2 here. Its a good bike rack but the only concern I have is if you have a car with a average size trunk its hard to fit two mountain bikes on the super joe 2. Overall its a good deal and a good rack.

Found one!

I tried a $29 Bell, it was too wide. I tried a $49 Schwinn for my Schwinn bike, it didn't fit my car. I paid more than I wanted to for the Yakima, but at least I can now carry my bike. It seems solid and capable.

hangs too low

Hung way too low on my Nissan Sentra, the front tire ended up in front of my exhaust pipe and would have ended up blowing.
