White Lightning Chain Lubricant

White Lightning's “Self-Cleaning” wax-based lubricant is the original, unchanged, and some say the best chain, derailleur, and cable lube around. Pick up a squeeze tube to try out, and then come back for the big Jug-O'Lightning when you find out what's up.

Bottom Line: If we didn't use it ourselves, we wouldn't sell it.

i didn't really pay attention to the bottle size when i ordered, but now i realize 8oz is twice the size of your standard squeeze bottle you'd find in most shops, which i LOVE cause it's lasts a ton longer. I had been using the rock n' roll from my LBS, but that would do really weird things if i left it in my car in the sun. This one has worked great and doesn't get bloated and explode in my car (at least not so far).

I hear these wax based lubes are really only good for wet weather conditions, otherwise the wax clings tight to dirt and sand grit. I know it states it is self cleaning though so whats up?

In all honesty, we don't put wax based lubes on in our shop because they do trap tons of sand, grit, and otherwise. We're also located in an arid desert environment.

I personally prefer Finish Line's Dry Lube, which Backcountry doesn't carry (sadly).

works very well without excess grease and last significantly longer than the pedros-bad experience with the cap sold on this brand, no reason to switch or try anything else

Keeps everything slippery and shifting great. Like the screw on top it keeps everything int he bottle unlike Pedro's lube. Just make sure you shake it up.
