The Vasque Men’s Velocity VST GTX Trail Running Shoe means serious business on the trail. In fact, it sends bits of loose gravel running in fear and ducking for cover. (Pretty much, anyway.) Steep, gravelly, scree-covered trails pose no problem for the Velocity VST GTX shoe because Vasque Mako outsoles offer aggressive traction. Lightweight, dual density EVA footbeds suspend your feet in a happy place, and sturdy TPU plates and fabric reinforcements support your feet and help you avoid unintended twists and slips. Airmesh nylon and synthetic nubuck leather uppers hold it all together, without holding perspiration in.

Good hiking shoe

I can't say I do any trail running, but those are the types of shoes I like to wear when hiking. I love having the goretex XCR as it proves super useful when your foot slips and you end up in a little puddle. However, I don't feel like it manages moisture inside all that well, but what fabric can when it's 90 degrees out and putting them through their paces? The break in period for these was a little longer than I would expect, but are in the sweet spot right now and I intend to keep on using them. Good if not great shoe for waterproof hiking!
