Vasque Velocity VST Trail Running Shoe - Men's
Wear the Vasque Men's Velocity VST Trail Running Shoe to power through long mountain runs. An Airmesh upper keeps your feet breathing, and Vasque's Spine Technology and a TPU shank give you enough impact support to run all day and through the night—man, you 100-mile racers are insane. The Mako II sole grabs trail like a shark grabs its prey, so you don't have to worry about losing your footing.
Bottom Line: Run the trail with maximum Velocity.

VST Great shoe

I have owned several pairs of the original Velocity, and would wear them through countless airports, 1 night lightweight backpacking, mountainbiking, limbo dancing, running from concert security, why even trail running several hundred miles. They are awesome. I do find the new VST to fit a bit snugger, and in a quiet room they squeek like a dry hinge on a toilet seat when I walk. What's with that? Is Vasque using Flubber for cushioning? If so, then bring it on since they absorb impact from hardpan better than any trail shoe I've owned. Otherwise, they are my favorite trail runner, with every bit of quality I'm accustomed to from Vasque.
Question: when will the squeaking stop? Should I install a grease fitting or just turn up the Ipod?
Will the squeeking stop? Will they stretch out a little? My

Will they stretch out a little? My toes are right up against the end, but not blistering or uncomfortable.

Once a squeaker always a squeaker, actually they may just take a few runs to break in but with ur toes being jammed if you run downhill your toes will get hammered plus it’s always good to leave a little extra room for foot swelling.

Not overly impressed for the price

Not a bad shoe but DONT PAY TOP PRICE!! The Na Pali coast trail did some damage to the useless mesh on the shoes. The sole does'nt stand up to the high desert of Oregon all too well either (but i havent found a shoe sole that does!). The sole is seperating from the shoe and large pieces of the sole are actually gone! I have used some shoe goo to remide this issue and have yet to lose any more of the sole. Now i have had these for about 6 months but for the price i was hoping they would last a bit longer.

I've read that the sole starts to come apart on these after moderate use. Has anyone experienced this? Also, how is the width on these shoes? Is it similar to the Blur? Has anyone tried the Wide width? Thanks.

I've experienced nothing of the sort with the Velocity VST, however, i still prefer the regular velocity model. The width of the blur is slightly greater than that of the velocity VST. I can't speak from experience on the "wide" width, however, i have heard it accomodates well (sorry i don't have any specifics)

I've bought 2 pairs and the sole is detaching from the heal on one pair after about 30 miles of trail running. Kinda disappointing. Other than that, they are the best trail shoe I've owned.

i have used 3 pairs of the vasque velocity in the past and have really liked them, so I ordered this new version it is much improved for my purposes. these are cooler and lighter (or at least feel that way) and seem much more cushioning, especially in the heel. the rubber is soft and i thought it might tear up on the more jagged rocks but has not. vasque shoes fit my foot and running style well and I'll continue to order them for my trailing running shoes as long as they make a quality product.

I prefer this shoe over the blur every day of the week! The grip feels very similar as does the basic fit but these breathe much, much better than the blur.

This is a really great pair of shoes; wish it came in more colours; I'd have at least 2 - 3 pairs.

Although these shoes aren't approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association to actually be better for your condition(Chaco and Dansko [clogs] are). The heel cushion is rather dense and these would be worth the shot. Considering purchasing a second pair. These are made in China.

Still the Best

The first generation of the Vasque Velocity quickly became my favorite all-around show - for hiking, running, scrambling, pretty much everywhere but work. When they started showing up on sale, I bought as many pairs as I could but alas - the last pair finally bit the dust. I'm happy to report that this new version allevaitred my fears - the Velocity still rocks. The shoe is lighter and the fit is slightly more snug but they're still my go-to show for most conditions.
Does anyone know how fast these shoes dry out/deal with wet
Does anyone know how fast these shoes dry out/deal with wet weather?
answerI've had them absolutely sopping wet, finished my run around 5pm and had them completely dry by morning. That was just sitting in my living room too.

Great redesign of the Velocity. The heal has more cushion which makes it softer going down hill and over small rocks. Great shoe!!

We bike and then hike in Joshua Tree National Park. These shoes fit the bill. Light weight, nice ankle collar for support, breezy mesh tops to let out the heat. I'm a convert.

About me. 5'8", 175lbs, mild pronator, flat-footed, and love running trails. After reading many reviews and doing much research I ended up getting these shoes and they rock. Out of the box with no break in I took them on a 10k trail run through snow that varied in depth from ankle deep to ,at times, knee deep. Add three frozen lake crossings and the shoes impressed. They were incredibly comfortable and despite not being waterproof and my feet being pretty well soaked I had no issues with blisters or sore feet. Arch support was great and after the run my arches had no pain which has happened with other shoes. Great stability while running over snow where others had previously run. I don't recall even coming close to rolling an ankle which is great cause you can concentrate just on enjoying the run. Great shoe! Will purchase again for sure.
Wonderful Running shoes.

These things are amazing. Stiff enough to climb the hills, but still comfy enough to run and keep running. Warning: The orange colors are very orange. The picture is a little off.
Great Off-Road Shoes - Not Boots

Tennis shoes that hike as good as any boots. They have the support I need when running on loose rocky slopes. The grey with yellow trim looks sharp. Colored mesh fabric shreds instantly on rocks, thorns shoot straight through (they could be sturdier). THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN RUNNING OVER TERRAIN THAT SHOULD BE WALKED.
