Vasque Breeze XCR Hiking Boot - Women's

It's raining like crazy on your three-day backpacking trip, but your feet are dry and comfortable inside the Vasque Women's Breeze XCR Hiking Shoes. Their waterproof breathable Gore-Tex XCR linings keep out moisture no matter how hard it rains. The mid-height Breeze XCR Hiking Shoes support your ankles when you're shouldering a heavy pack and Vibram Contact soles provide excellent traction on the muddy trails. A plastic Flexframe 1 Plate separates the Breeze XCR's midsole from outsole. The frame has an excellent forward flex, but limits twisting to keep your ankles stable.

Bottom Line: Wet, slick trails are no problem when you're backpacking in the Vasque Breeze XCR Hiking Shoes.

I have a wide foot and I ordered a pair of women's Vasque hiking boots, they were too narrow and hurt my feet. I was told that the Vasque boots were made a little wider than other boots and wide sizes were not available. So I purchased a pair of mens Vasque hiking boots and I love them, great fit. I just got back from a bear hunt and I had no problems with wet feet or blisters with these boots. Good Luck!!

Dry feet!

Good, comfortable boots. I didn't need any time to break them in. These fit me true to size and kept my feet completely dry while hiking in the snow or when I had to cross streams. I definitely recommend these.

Good gear, but not for sensitive feet.

I bought my Breeze XCR Hiking Boots for my hiking trip in California, so I got to test them in Yosemite and Mt. Whiteny. My first experience with them was that they were heavy and during my short 4-5 hours hikes they managed to both blister and wound my feet. Also they did not seem very breathable to me. On my hike to Mt. Whitney I used proper hiking socks and my experience changed. The boots were breathable and in 14 hours of hiking they only moderately accentuated my wounds. They have good grip on granite type rock, but I never got to test them in wet conditions. I would recommend these boots as long as you wear them with proper socks and you do not have very sensitive feet.

This boot has been nothing but fantastic in the short time I have owned it. Very comfortable, good support in the arch and ankle area, and it wasn't to hard to break it! I did have a little rubbing on the back of the heal, but I think that was more of a sock issue then boot. Very happy with purchase at this time!

Comfortable and Dry

I've had these boots for 3 years and have put many miles on them from pouring rain to dry hot days. I've even enjoyed them winter hiking and they are the boots I use to snowshoe. They are an all around great boot for all conditions. I use them for day hikes and backpacking trips and find them to be extremely comfortable, and amazingly dry. I have completely submerged my foot into streams and puddles and have dry feet. I've never had a blister or a hot spot, and I backpack at about 15 miles per day. These have a roomy toe box, and fit my wide foot well.

pretty good boot

I've worn these boots several times so far. They’ve been worn winter camping, hiking 6+ hours twice, once in off-and-on rain. I have fairly wide and sensitive feet. Often, shoes will not be comfortable. These were from the beginning. It took me a few times to break them in. I have a narrow, somewhat bony ankle and the back of the boot rubbed the back of my ankle a bit at first, nothing that moleskin and tying the shoelace one notch lower couldn’t remedy. Considering each time I’ve worn them I’ve really put them to the test, I’d say they’ve been great. After hiking 7 hrs. or so in off-and-on rain, crossing muddy & wet areas, I expected my feet to be wet. My socks were bone dry. I was very pleased. When I wore them camping, they stayed warm until nightfall. I could then feel a slight draft on the top parts of my feet. I didn’t mind, it was probably about 30° and dropping at that point. I’d rather have a shoe that can breathe a bit when I’m hiking. They are flexible enough to be comfortable. I’ve only worn them once with a heavy backpack, but it wasn’t for much more than an hour. They seemed supportive enough though I can’t comment on what a longer backpacking hike might feel like. I would recommend them. My fussy feet were happy and they met my expectations.
