Vasque Kota GTX XCR Hiking Shoe - Men's
The Vasque Kota GTX Men's Hiking Shoes give you excellent support and completely waterproof protection on the roughest, wettest trails. As rain starts coming down, your feet laugh at mud puddles and streams while the Gore-Tex XCR liners keep them totally dry and provide superb breathability. The mud-covered rocks and steep, loose trails don't have a chance against the high-traction Vasque Racer X sole. Kota GTX Hiking Shoes use the Keystone Control System in their lacing to pull your heel back and anchor it against the cushy dual-density EVA midsole. This system increases precision on ultra-rough terrain and increases support when you're packing a heavy load.
Bottom Line: Wet trails? Rough trails? Everything feels like an easy trail with the Vasque Kota GTX Hiking Shoes on your feet.

Absolutely. Get your pack up to 50 pounds and you might want some more ankle support.

How are these babies for folks with higher arches? Is there good support in that area?

In order to cover a wider range feet, the Kota has a standard arch. I'd suggest using a high arch footbed/insole for your needs.

I have never worn Vasque boots/shoes. How does the sizing run? I also have a narrow foot(B width)

They run 1/2 size large for me. I'm normally a 13 for sport shoes, but their 13 was too sloppy so I had to get a 12 because they don't make 12 1/2. Now they're tight. Better tight than sloppy though.
Most Vasque footware fits a medium to wide foot better. The Kota is only available in medium which is closer to a D width.
