The Vasque Ranger 2 GTX gives you the comfort of Gore-Tex at a shockingly reasonable price. This excellent boot has a split leather and nylon upper which is easy to break in and is lined with Gore-Tex so your feet will stay dry on the soggiest trail you can find. And EVA midsole will provide plenty of support for midweight loads in the backcountry. Whether you're a seasoned trail veteran or a hopelessly green newcomer, you can rely on the Ranger 2 to keep your feet happy.

Bottom Line: Good out front, or in the rear with the gear.

THESE ARE WELL BUILT BOOTS, BUT I MADE THE MISTAKE OF ORDERING THEM AS MY NEED FOR THEM ENDED. THE DAY TO DAY USE WILL BE MORE WITH MY TRAILRUNNING SHOES NOW THAT SPRING IS COMING BUT THEY WILL MAKE PERFECT WORK BOOTS TIL WINTER RETURNS. THEY GIVE GOOD SUPPORT AND MODERATE BREATHABLITY

Good Boots

Just did some hiking in the southern Adirondacks and these boots were terrific. Comfortable with great grip. Good solid hiking boots.

Excellent for the Price

So far, I have only about 20 miles on my Rangers. They are taking a bit of breaking in. They are, however, becoming comfortable and they are very supportive. I have not yet worn them in wet weather but am looking forward to seeing how well they do. At this point, I am very satisfied; they appear to be a good boot for the price.
