Volkl Wall Alpine Ski - 2008
Stoked to find a dedicated park and pipe weapon? The Volkl Wall Alpine Ski features a true twin shape for switch riding and anchored edges for bomber durability. Approach the lip switch—this Volkl ski rides exactly the same backward as it does forward. The Wall Alpine Ski's multi-layer wood core provides bomber durability in the binding area, explosive pop, and low swing weight for big spins. Stomp the landing and ride away clean—the Volkl Wall's vertical sidewalls and torsion box construction provide serious stability. Volkl anchored this park and pipe destroyer's edges with Volkl logo insets so you don't have to worry about ripping the edge off on a rail ride.
Bottom Line: Wall rides, kickers, rails, and pipes.

About as good as any all-mountain or park ski. The flex is a little better than most, at least for how I ski, but it definitely isn't the best pow ski ever. For a park ski though, it has enough float to make it a very versatile ski.

Take in mind that they are designed as a park and all-mountain ski. They might barely function in powder, but won't be anywhere near as responsive or floaty as a ski designed with powder in mind. Check out the K2 Kung Fuja. They are a softer ski, but designed to be a one ski quiver. They will hold up in all mountain and park, very well, but are also pretty gnar in the soft stuff.

The Look PX 12 is a pretty sick binding, same with the Rossi equivalent in the 120 or 140, and of course the Jesters or Griffons from Marker are awesome.

i was wonderin about gettin these or the the stl's for next season. i spend like all my time in the park, unless i want a break or sumthin, i live on the east coast so theres like no pow, i'd say advanced skier, 5"4' and 120 lbs. wut should i go for?

I would go for the Volkl Wall over the STL. If you do want a 4frnt ski, the TNK is more comparable to the Volkl Wall. The STL is heavier and stiffer than the Wall, and is generally thought of as more of an all mountain ski. The TNK is also stiffer than the wall, but skis great in the park. The Volkl Wall is great for anyone spending 90% or more of their time in the park, as it has a medium flex, fully symmetrical shape and flex, and low swing weight.

The bridge. That's what it's made for. I would stay away from the suspect. Althought Salomon makes great skis there have been rumors that the suspect was a bit "suspect" if you get the drift. The wall wouldn't be a bad choice either but is geared more towrds park. The great thing about volkls is the quality construction and durability.

The Volkl Bridge is a much better choice for "all mountain" than either the Wall or Suspect.

How do these skis performance in the bumps and on the groomers?

They can pretty much destroy the groomers, and at least for me when I demoed them, can clam the bumps. Fairly soft flex, so it grabs the groomed runs good.

im 5'10 150 pounds and want a park and pipe only ski, im expert in the park and was wondering what would be better suited for me 169cm or the 177cm

I would only center mount these skis because they are a symmetrical twin. Go for the 177cm center mounted. With a center mount the skis don't feel very long until you get into some bumps and your tails start catching a little. I would mount these with the Marker Jester or Griffon bindings because they perform awesome with this ski; perfectly balancing the swing weight. I'm 6'3" 175 lbs and have a pair of the 185cm from last year mounted with Jesters and I love them.

How does the Volkl Wall compare to the old Karma?
How does the Volkl Wall compare to the old Karma?

The wall is total park ski and the karma was a stiff all mountain ski that was replaced by the bridge that is wider to be more usefull. The wall is a great ski in the park but not so great out of the park. If you decide to get walls make sure you get 09,s because they had problems with binding,s pulling out last year,so they changed the core for this year.
