One of the reviews said the plastice logo was cheap looking compared to the embroidered logo. What is your opinion on this...specifially the El Cap?
Are all North face logos plastic lookng now or only on certain models?

On mine, I wouldn't call it "plastic looking." I would say more of a "flexible rubbery" substance. (And it's a model to model thing.) I most definitely wouldn't call this a deal-breaker either. This is a great shirt in so many aspects!

I've got a 14 year old El Cap shirt that is my favorite shirt of all time. Seriously, it doesn't get much better. To this day, I regret not buying more when I had the chance. I wear it all the time (it still looks close to new) and I still get compliments on it. I recently managed to get some kind of grease like stain on it that I can't get out, so I needed to get a replacement for in town use. I had picked up some of the vaporwick short sleeve polos this summer, but wasn't impressed. They were very comfortable, but the fabric wasn't at all durable, snagging easily on zippers in the wash. Keep it far away from Velcro! Two of three have already been taken off in town duty because they don't look good anymore. Anyway, I didn't have high expectations for the vaporwick el cap, but it is pretty sweet. The cardinal red is very close to that of my old el cap. The cut is a bit different; it now has arm gussets. This seems like an modest improvement. Gone is the embroidered same color TNF logo, repaced by some kind of contrasting vinyl like decal. This wasn't an improvement; it looks cheap in comparison. The collar isn't a true polo like mine. I wish a traditional polo collar was available, but this will have to make do. Overall the fabric is very much like the pique knit of my old favorite. It looks good and feels durable. I've worn it twice in the few weeks I've had it, and I'm diggin it. I'd rate it 4 1/2 stars for losing the embroidery and the lack of a true polo collar. I'd go 5 if these were corrected. It's not quite as good as the original, but is pretty close. I'll likely be getting a few more.

This is a very soft top. I use it for evening bike rides or early morning skates. It keeps the wind out very well and me warm.
