The North Face Redpoint Optimus Insulated Jacket - Men's
Zip up The North Face Men's Redpoint Optimus Insulated Jacket for frigid belays, icy backcountry ski tours, or just a chilly trip to the grocery store. This PrimaLoft insulated coat features an elasticized hood and seamless yoke and shoulders for a performance fit in any conditions. A DWR coating repels wet snow and spindrift, and the jacket stows inside its internal chest pocket when you stuff it back into your pack. Elastic cuffs and a hem cinch cord help seal out the storm.
Bottom Line: More than meets the eye.

What would be better suited for the chilly Michigan winters, This or the Nuptse Jacket? Similarly, is this warm enough for the aforementioned conditions?

This jacket is FAR less puffy than the nuptse and won't get wet while dry, but the down fill of the nuptse is a bit warmer. Don''t get me wrong, I have worn the Redpoint Optimus in Single degree weather (with a light fleece underneath). The insulated hood on the Optimus is superior than the Nuptse. The Redpoint can be worn in a FAR wider range of temperatures though
