The North Face Apex Bionic Triclimate Jacket - Men's

A wind-blocking, breathable, stretchy softshell jacket with fleece backing and a zip-in Heatseeker liner? Sweet. Sounds like The North Face Men’s Apex Bionic Triclimate Jacket provides layering options for fall, winter, and spring. Wear the Apex ClimateBlock softshell alone when the leaves change and the wind picks up on your fall backpacking trips—the fabric blocks harsh gusts and the fleece backing feels soft when you wear a short-sleeve performance top underneath. Zip the liner into the softshell once snow starts to fall, then sport the liner around town on dry spring days.

Bottom Line: Insulation when you need it, a light fleece backing on the softshell when you don’t.

sweet jacket, but NOT A ZIP IN!

I ordered expecting a zip in, almost returned it because it isnt, but i love it too much regardless. This is my first TNF jacket and i love it. I live in a house with 15 other guys and all of them who have seen it love it. I even got asked to borrow it for a weekend camping trip which i had to deny. So warm, soft, light, and stylish. The Basin Blue is amazing.

No. You'd have to do some serious layering for it to keep you warm in 0 degree temps.

I really like the light weight, but is this jacket warm enough...

I really like the light weight, but is this jacket warm enough for camping/hiking in northern Arizona and central California (Big Bear) in the middle of December?

Shouldn't be too bad if you're moving around or near a campfire. You might need an extra layer or two if your idle or it's super cold out. It should be enough to have you covered though most of the time.

Hey there the Apex Bionic triclimate is the same Apex Climateblock fabric for the outer jacket that is in the stand alone Apex Bionic softshell jacket. The liner is a synthetic insulated piece.
