The North Face TA Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's
You're looking for a windproof, warm, fleece-backed softshell, but you don't want to look like a TNF lemming. Try The North Face Men's TA Apex Bionic Jacket. The North Face gave this jacket old school style patches, but not just random patches that make you lamely admit you have no idea what they are when people ask. The Trans-Antarctica patches and trims commemorate six men and sled dogs who endured minus 225-degree-Fahrenheit temps and over 100-mile-per-hour winds to cross Antarctica. The men were from six different countries, so this stretchy, water-resistant softshell also celebrates the spirit of adventure and coming-togetherness.
Bottom Line: The patches on this softshell aren't trendy, meaningless desings.

I don't get how there can be minus 225 degrees in Antarctica, the coldest temp I've seen listed is around 129 below zero. I have a earlier version of the Bionic jacket and was warm at about 12 degrees, but I was walking at a brisk pace.

Valid point. The coldest recorded temperature on earth was -129 at the Russian research station. I don't know where the person who wrote the description got that number, that's cold enough to freeze butane. Maybe they were trying to say -125.

Hey man, I live in Nebraska, for us it works fine, but we are used to the cold more than you guys in Az. I wear it comfortably down to about 20 degrees, but really it depends on how long you'll be outside. If just for short periods, get it, if not, go to the Sentinel Thermal or Bionic Thermal.
