The North Face Momentum Hiking Shoe - 2008

The North Face specifically designed the Women's Momentum Hiking Shoe for athletes who engage in a broad variety of outdoor pursuits. Highly breathable open-cell mesh regulates foot temperature, and an ultra lightweight synthetic upper eliminates bulk. The North Face ergonomically-designed the footbed and incorporated lightweight EVA in the midsole to add comfort and form-fitting support. A grippy UltrATAC rubber outsole provides stable multi-directional movement.

great shoes!

I had never been hiking, and indeed rarely wear sneaker-type shoes, but this were cute (love the blue and gray combo) and functional! I have wide feet and often have to buy a size 8.5 or 9 for dress shoes (depending on the style), but the size 8 fit perfectly. They are definitely breathable and my feet still felt great after a 3 hour hike up and down a steep and gravel-covered trail. Not well-suited to hiking through sandy areas, as the breathable mesh allows fine sand to accumulate inside the shoe, but that was my own fault for not thinking of that ahead of time. Overall, a great buy!

North Face Hiking Shoes

I like these hiking shoes because they are sturdy and the soles are very grippy. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 shoe size and have a narrow foot. I bought these in a 7 and found them slightly big and not as tight around my foot as I usually like. As these these shoes are sturdy - they are also pretty stiff, so I wouldn't recommend these for running, only for hiking.

Also try Lowa brand. I have 2 pair of them and love them and my foot is quite wide! Good luck.
