The North Face Flyweight Duffel Bag - 1950 - 2870cu in
The North Face created the Flyweight Duffel Bag for those extended trips where you tend to pick up a couple extra items at every stop. Start your trip with the Flyweight Duffel Bag stuffed into its own internal pocket and buried in your luggage. When you run out of room for souvenirs, get it out and start filling it. The North Face used an ultralight 70D PU fabric to make this bag for a scant 12oz, and they included a removable shoulder strap to help you carry it when you fill this thing to the gills.
Bottom Line: Be ready for the overflow with The North Face Flyweight Duffel Bag.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

The North Face Flyweight Rucksack is a good option--super light, packs up tiny, and then, presto, you have a backpack when you need one..!

This bag is super fun and handy for everything...I've even started using it as a de-facto purse if I don't feel like carrying a "purse..." It is small and light and awesome for traveling, or hauling gear to the mountain, gym, wherever. You can throw it in your luggage to put dirty laundry in while you're traveling, too!
How tear resistant is the bag and how thick is the material?
How tear resistant is the bag and how thick is the material? Is it more like a tent fabric or a light rainjacket fabric?

Yes - more similar to a tent fly. Very lightweight rip-stop nylon. It is not meant for day in and day out use as much as a way to bring a lightweight way to bring more stuff home than you left with.

I have an older version of this bag and it's great. Ever since I stole it from my sister it has been perfect for traveling.
It is NOT WATERPROOF. The bag is water resistant, which means that it does not get damaged by water. The contents of this bag will not be protected from water.

Amazingly Light and Strong

I have ordered two of these bags now because they are so great. They are amazingly thin, soft, light and can be crammed with lots of gear. They fold up into a cargo pocket sized pouch. So far the bag has been able to take whatever I throw at it. Take one folded up in your big bag just in case you need another bag to bring all your souvenirs in if you ever go traveling. Definately an amazing bag that should have never taken this long to be available for purchase.
