I wear a 31 waist with a 27"-28" inseam. If I get the short inseam...

I wear a 31 waist with a 27"-28" inseam. If I get the short inseam 30" does anyone know if they can be shortened without a telltale sign? Would I be better off getting the longer medium inseam?
