Has anyone who's bought these slider pants found the sizes to...

Has anyone who's bought these slider pants found the sizes to differ from year to year? I was gifted a size 2 but am disappointed that they are too big. I am petite and normally where a size zero by today's standards (a 4 from a few years back) and would love to find these pants made during a year where a size 2 really is what the size chart says it is = XS.

I'll try Northface directly but any suggestions would be great, thanks.

I have 3 pairs of these pants, so you can tell I absolutely love them. I'm 5'2", and they run slightly long on me, but I fold up the bottom hem and they are the perfect length. They work well when turning into capris, and you can't feel the little piece of fabric on the inside when you're wearing them as pants. The material is comfy and soft, and gets better the more you wash them. They are dressy enough to wear to work (causal office) and the ease of movement is enough that I've done day hiking in them as well as climbing.
