Hound the trail in The North Face Men's Prophecy Shoes. These trail shoes give you the stability and support you need for a long hike in the woods. The North Face's shock-absorbing inserts reduce leg fatigue, and arch supports keep your feet stable so you aren't plagued with blisters. Get a well-cushioned ride and an energy efficient stride with The North Face's heel air pod inserts in the midsoles. Just got back from a light hiking trip in Yosemite. Very comfortable shoes, especially for a guy with somewhat flat feet. Never got wet so can't speak to how waterproof they are, but comfort is top notch. Nice and grippy on those slippery granite surfaces too.

these shoes run true to size and are excellent. they have venting on the top so no overheating. they wouldn't be great in wet situations however

Nicolas,The mesh is very similar in characteristics to water shoes, but different. There is a larger mesh with a more fine darker mesh underneath it. Bottom line: water will go through it when raining, if there is a breeze you will feel it, if you are wearing white socks nobody will be able to tell through the mesh. Mahalo, Sumo

I bought a pair of these last April. My buddy who walked the PCT swears by light weight trail running shoes instead of boots for backpacking. I was skeptical, but gave these a try. After 9 months of use, I can't see going back to traditional boots. I used them on mutiple 15+ mile weekend backpacks and a 65 mile week long Sierra Trek. There great on and off the trail. Plenty of grip for rock hopping. And, my favorite part, I don't even attempt to avoid water crossings any more. I just walk right through them and the shoes seem to dry out in less then 10 minutes of walking!

If it's slushy, your feet are going to get wet, but other than that I see no reason why not.

I have been thinking about this shoe for a cheap work shoe where I stand a lot and walk a lot. I have a pair of Vasque Mantra GTX waterproof shoes for hiking, but I do not want to dirty these up at work. Is tnf prophecy shoe have good support and is it semi waterproof? Can you suggest a better shoe for my situation? Thanks,s

Purchased for my husband. The North Face, what more can you say? Very lightweight shoe, breathes well and very comfortable. He is stoked about them.
These shoes aren't waterproof. They have plenty of mesh for ventilation.Any shoe with mesh is not waterproof however when they do get wet, they dry very quickly.

These are one of the best pair of shoes I have owned in a while. The mesh is nice and they actually work quite well in the snow (keeping it out).

It has been my experience that most North Face shoes fit slightly smaller than actual size. I don't own these specific shoes though. But I've owned a few other pairs and they all have been slightly small for their size. By slightly small, I mean not quiet .5 size difference. Maybe about a .25 size difference, if that makes any sense.

I like this shoe - it provides good support and has a good stiffness for hiking. The shank protects against rocks and the shoe fits very well on my slightly wide foot. Very comfortable.
good to go!

These are the first north face shoes for me, very comfortable, no break in required, good airy multi-sport show. I wear them in Afghnistan with quite a bit of weight on and they're good all day long, if they wear well here, that's quite the stamp of approval.
TNF - never disappoints!

Superior comfort and fit. Speedlaces were an unexpected bonus. The padded heel insole is lush, and the Vibram outer sole is the clinched. Best outdoor athletic shoe I have owned. The Nikes just went in the garbage...

these shoes are great. i have a bum knee and i was real skeptical to order them online! They have great tread and are awesome for hiking and basically anything outdoors! I've put them through the test and i am very satisfied with these shoes!!

I like the "northotic" insole. They are breathable and look good. A little bit narrow if you have wide feet so I guess the fit is normal. After a few months I am starting to get a hole in the back in the heal area, but I guess they hold up as well as most trail-running shoes.
