The North Face Windwall 1 Jacket - Women's
The North Face Women's WindWall 1 Jacket expands the boundary of traditional wind-stopping jackets to offer greatly increased breathability, mobility, and comfort. WindWall is a TNF proprietary fleece fabric that provides awesome wind protection, yet allows enough air permeability for aerobic activities. Unlike WindStopper and other wind-blocking materials, which can uncomfortably trap moisture and excess heat, WindWall keeps you dry, warm, and operating at your highest performance level. Perfect for outdoor activities as diverse as backcountry skiing, hiking, or just an evening stroll around town, the WindWall 1 may well help you forget about traditional fleece and wind-blocking jackets altogether.
Bottom Line: Take shelter from the gale in the WindWall.

Does it fade in the wash and dryer, after time?

it won't if you get a tech wash and do not put it in the dryer with any heat. Anything you take out in the sun a lot will slowly fade, because of the suns rays. If you don't have tech wash or want to get tech wash, use woolite or a very mild detergent. Never use powder detergent on technical materials. The powder is abrasive and scrubs the material and clogs the pores. Also put your soap in and let the washer fill all the way up with water, then put your technical pieces in. This will insure none of the detergent gets directly on the garment and won't cause spotting on the clothing.

Is this jacket fuzzy fleece like the Denali jacket or is it more like the material on a ski jacket, or in between like a tightly woven sweatshirt?

I don't own this jacket, but I tried it on once at a store. It has a very tightly woven fabric but slightly stretchy. I'ts kinda fuzzy on the outside like suede, but is a very strong material. Very high quality. The only downside I noticed is the seams on the inside are really scratchy/itchy. You would have to wear a long sleeve underneath! Hope this helps.
