The North Face Resolve Jacket - Men's
It's been pouring rain for nine-straight hours, but you're still nice and dry thanks to The North Face Men's Resolve Jacket. You haven't felt a speck of moisture through the fully seam-taped, waterproof breathable HyVent fabric, and the mesh lining increases breathability to keep you from getting sweaty during a steep section of hiking. When the sky finally clears, just tuck The North Face Resolve Jacket's hood into its own collar and enjoy the sun.
Bottom Line: Don't let rain end your hike. Gear up with The North Face Resolve Jacket.

Pretty sick jacket for the price. I was looking for a nice solid rain jacket and this was the ticket. Great look and feel and you can't beat the North Face brand for high quality. Love the jacket.

The Waypoint would be better for year round use, especially if you have to deal with a winter season. Where as this one will be more of a 3 season jacket better for spring, summer and fall.

This jacket doesn't breathe as well as some others, and could be lighter, but for this price, it's fine. I have been happy with this jacket, I am 6'0"/165 lbs, and I got a Large in the event that I'm layering, but I should have gotten Medium.

I would consider this a "Regular" fit, not "baggy" such as many Snowboard Jackets.

I dig this jacket. I'm 6'0 180 and the Large leaves room for layers, though the neck can get tight zipped up with a heavier fleece under it. I've hiked many miles in 50's temps with just a t-shirt and never found myself wanting for weatherproofness or breathability. Not a bad jacket for the price. HyVent is decent stuff.

i originally bought it for hiking, but have used it for running as well and it has been great. fits perfectly, but is loose enough to wear layers underneath it. highly recommend it!

i'm a letter carrier for the usps and was wondering if this jacket could withstand steady rain for like 8hrs without penitrating ,cause i'v tried l.l. beans supposed gortex brand rain coat and it kept me dry for like a week and now it get wet every time , i just need a jacket that can take a rain fall for 8hrs more than once for pretty cheap

This will pretty much put you in the same boat as that LL. Bean Jacket. Hate to say it but you get what you pay for and for what you need you are going to have to spend a good deal more money to get something that waterproof.

This is a great jacket for tropical climates and heavy rain. You may also look at the venture jacket it is a little lighter and more packable.

dont need no pit zips. great jacket that is light and dry. im 5'9 155 and the Medium fits great. 80 bucks is reasonable.
not so much, missing a snow skirt and the fabric is not durable enough, not enough pockets and the two pockets it has are not handwarming, theres also no venting, elastic cuffs not velcro, also doesnt seem to have a drawcord on waist...so basically it is missing ALL the features that seperate snow jackets from rain jackets...and interestingly enough, thats excatly what it is; a rain jacket...it wont work great but is waterproof, if you absolutley HAVE to use it for boarding...but do some digging and you can find tons of snowboard jackets (on this site) for under 100 bucks

Mine has a drawcord on the waist, one at each side. This is a minimalist jacket, The fabric is the main feature. You'd probably want something with more pockets and warmer for your purposes. .

both are waterproof shells with no insulation, and have the same waterproofing rating...so they are essentially the same, but the venture is a little higher performing for activites like backpacking and hiking...but both are the same waterproofing and tempature-wise

I am 178lb, 5'10" and have always had trouble fitting into TNF jackets and sweaters. I bought this Resolve jacket in a large, and it fits very well. It almost has an athletic fit to it imo. The sleeves are elastic, so they naturally want to hang right above your hands. I found that the sleeve is surprisingly a good length, me usually expecting TNF to be tailored to long, skinny people. The neck area is full of fleece and it feels nice against my face and neck. I prefer a hood that can stow in the collar, which this jacket does. It has not rained yet, but I'm guessing that the waterproofness will hold up well. For the price, a great deal!

I love this jacket. I would have to say that it is one of the best buys of my life. I bought it for hiking and out on the trail it rocks I got stuck in a big rain storm and stayed completely dry the whole time. I would recommend this jacket to any one that is looking to a new rain jacket.

the resolve has a stowable hood and weights a bit more than both the Venture jacket and Venture Parka, with the Venture jacket being the lightest. according to the stats, they both have the same breathability and waterproofing. i believe the venture parka is a bit longer/bigger than the venture jacket. i would recommend getting the Venture jacket. its a solid, lightweight, all-around rain shell for a cheap price, especially right now since the discounted colors are priced at $59.37.

I would suggest looking at the North Face Venture jacket. its lighter weight, has a fixed hood, and will pack easier than this jacket. and right now the discontinued colors are on sale for $59.37, so that is a really good deal for an effective rain shell.

What is the difference between this and the North Face Venture Jacket? which one if more heavy duty
By: Ali

The main difference is the resolve has a hanging mesh lining inside, while the Venture is 2.5 layer construction so it does not. The Venture is lighter and more packable, while the Resolve is a little heavier and one could say a little more heavy duty.

This jacket is completely waterproof/breathable with a mesh lining that feels really nice against my skin. It lacks pit zips. I did a little research, and found a VERY similar jacket that's equipped with pit zips for you. "The North Face Venture Jacket" has pit zips and an upgraded nylon liner instead of mesh. Hope that helps! http://www.backcountry.com/store/TNF2826/The-North-Face-Vent
