The perfect shoe!

The North Face got this one right on. The Boa system holds up well and the shoe support is perfect. I'm on my second pair.

Gr8 4 trial run, but what bout adventure racing?

By: Surita @ NZ (1)

Very happy with shoes. Performing well in wet, muddy conditions in New Zealand winter. Do have a concern about the dial on heal, tho. Will this last in the muddy grit? Shoes are gr8 for trial running (light, good traction, easy to dial laces up/down), but I suspect dial's internal parts and construction not tough enough to cope with rugged nature (ankle deep mud, sea water, river x-ings, ploughing thru native forest floor) of adventure racing. Would love to be proven wrong on this point.

Proven themselves

I have tried boa's before and didn't like them...but gave these a chance. Personally I wouldn't consider this a trail shoe (unless its mellow-just dirt no rocks). The soles are pretty soft-so I love these for road running too. Lacing-I love not tying my shoes. The first time I ran in these, they were great. Second time-blister. Third, fourth, fifth, etc they have been great.

good enough for dean...

Good enough for me! Ok, So Dean, where do I begin? You run marathons--ultras, Badwaters, 50 marathons in 50 days and these are YOUR SHOES! And that, alone, was kind of why I got them. However, little did I realize that if you don't look like a small, greek, negligible fat-percent ultra-marathoner, you probably won't run like one either. So, well I like these for 3-8 mile runs, I wasn't a big fan of them for anything longer. Another Dean-obsessed friend of mine is more built like him (not greek, but no-fat) and she LOVES them. I'll probably still run marathons in Brooks Adrenalin's, but these are pretty good to rotate into the mix. They also fit true to size and I did like the BOA system.

Rockin' trail running shoes

Light, cushy trail running shoe - feels like and supports like a road shoe on the trails. The Boa lacing system works well and does not come loose during a run. Great for dry trail runs and very breathable, although I don't think they're ideal for snowy trail running conditions. Overall one of the better pair of trail running shoes out there.
