The North Face Scatter Backpack - Youth - 800 cu in
The North Face Kids' Scatter Backpack gives your student plenty of places to carry school essentials. The main compartment holds textbooks and notebooks, and an internal organizer keeps your kid's smaller items neat. The North Face gave this book bag super squishy padding in the shoulder straps for extra comfort when she has a lot of homework to carry. Junior can cram a hoody in the Scatter pack's front bungee and stash an apple and a chocolate milk in the side mesh pockets as he dashes out the door. This youth-sized backpack features reflective hits for increased safety at night.
Bottom Line: Don't make your kids wear big packs that weigh them down. The North Face Scatter Backpack fits small frames and carries homework comfortably.

Great Backpack! I bought it for my 4 y.o. toddler for his daycare and soccer games needs. Roomy enough and not bulky at the same time. i'm extremely satisfied with this purchase and my son likes his backpack alot! We got this backpack in Red/Black/Grey and it looks attractive with the NF Black McMurdo and Red Beanie. Very Stylish!

I would not suggest machine washing a day pack there is too much potential for the straps and things to catch on the agitator and being damaged. A front loading comercial washer might work. But the safest bet would be just to hand wash it in a sink or tub.

Perfect adult vacation bag

I just got back from a week's vacation, walking all over the place. This bag fits a surprising amount (two books, water bottle, wind breaker, umbrella, and camera), and was surprisingly comfortable on my shoulders (I'm very picky).
It was absolutely the perfect purchase for my purposes - I agree that it would not be big enough for a school child above 1st grade.
Overall, comfy, well made, roomy, and compact.
I would like North Face packs for my soon to be 2nd and 5th graders.

Disappointed

I ordered this for my daughter who is in the 5th grade. At the time, she had a rolling backpack, but insisted on a The NORTH FACE one. My metric calculations may have been really bad, but there is NO WAY a child who has 5 subject books plus a 3 inch binder would ever get use of this!
Awesome

Picked up two of these for my lil bros. They are so well made, and the perfect size for kids. No more book bags hitting them in the back of the knee when they walk.
