The North Face Amplitude Triclimate Jacket - Women's - 2007
The North Face combined a removable synthetic liner with a waterproof breathable shell to make the Amplitude Triclimate Women's Jacket. This way, you'll be comfortable in a wide range of weather conditions. Synthetic insulation in the liner keeps you toasty all winter. The North Face three-in-one jacket's fully taped seams and HyVent shell block moisture, and the removable hood keeps your head dry during winter snowstorms. The Amplitude Triclimate Jacket's Underarm zips dump heat after a hard mogul run. Snap-out the removable, insulated liner and wear it as an outer layer on dry spring days.
Bottom Line: The North Face Amplitude Triclimate Jacket helps you adjust to changing weather.

I absolutely love it! It's not very heavy, but keeps you very warm and dry. I love that it's very simple looking. No details and it's not puffy. I'm a petite person so I needed something that wasn't overwhelming looking. It's so comfortable and love the length on it. Not too short and not too long. I definitely recommend this jacket to anyone that wants a simple coat.
Very Happy!

I bought the white model. It is constantly diry, which is to be expected, but is not so good for the active person.
Otherwise, it keeps me warm, blocks the wind, and repels the rain.
I am from southern California, but now live in multi weather Germany... I feel ready for winter!
pretty dang good

this coat keeps you SUPER warm, and looks great. it's very well made, and I've gotten tons of compliments.
the only bad thing I've noticed about this is that the liner runs kind of small so you might want to order a size up from your usual.
Are the inside of the arms brown or eggplant?

Good Buy

I bought this jacket not that long ago. Where I live it's very windy and there is a lot of snow and rain during the winter season. I needed to buy a jacket that had a hood and that was waterproof but also I did not want one of those really bulky jackets. I am a short person so I understand not wanting a jacket that is really long on us or like I mentioned bulky.
This jacket was neither. I especially enjoy that it has the option to wear the thicker inner layer or not. I wear the outershell with a thinner fleece on the warmer days and am never cold. This jacket as a lot of great pockets, inside and out and as the arm pit vents which is nice. I bought a small and I am happy with it, the sleeves are a little long but the inner shell fits snugly. For this reason I am glad I got the small because the outershell is big enough to wear thicker or thinner inner layers.
Great Jacket

Although most North Face jackets are on the expensive side, the term "you pay for what you get" applies here. North Face quality is always amazing. with their lifetime warranty you cant go wrong. I bought this jacket for my GF to ski in ( i already own a TNF jacket) she hasn't gotten cold 1 time even in 10 degree weather, and its 2 layers are great for rain and or just windy days. would recommend to anyone

The jacket is light-weight, but very warm. Sizes run a tad big. I got an XL thinking I would like it to have a little room to move, but I could have gone with a large. I love it and it's great for keeping me dry! It's exactly what you would expect from North Face!
short & boxy, but functional

if you're looking for a jacket that covers more of your butt, get a parka. this jacket is short and boxy...especially the inside liner. makes you look like you have broad shoulders. and it hits me at the widest part of my hips so not very flattering. but it's very functional. just got back from an alaskan cruise and i was way too hot when i wore both the jacket and the liner together. kept me very warm, but if you're looking to look slim and trim...look elsewhere.
TNF Amplitude TriClimate Jacket

The Amplitude, TriClimate is a great jacket; except the liner does not zip it; it snaps in.Very confusing, since the liner has zipper tracks. I could not understand why I could not figure how to zip it in; until a more enlightened gear head said in a very helpful review on another site that the liner snaps in at collar and cuffs.
Shame on TNF for misleading customers this way. Otherwise this jacket would be fantastic; which is what TNF should aim for in every single product they produce. For the price, if their products are not consistently fantastic, consumers will eventually go elsewhere, after other labels have developed the same cachet.
LOVE, LOVE LOVE THE JACKET !!

I just received this jacket and absolutely love it! It's pink, cute, fashionable, warm and extremely well made. When trying it on I got very hot, so I know with my trip to Colorado in January, 2009, it will fit the bill. Love all the pockets and zip vents. The inside liner jacket is soooo soft and both jackets together are not bulky. I did have to re-order from a large to an extra large. I didn't allow for sweaters and other layered clothes. I know some others have posted that this jacket runs small and some have said it runs big. For me, it ran small. I couldn't zip the liner jacket, but could zip the outer jacket. Either way, you can't go wrong with this jacket - you won't be disappointed.
I love it!

I do like this coat. I don't feel like it's too boxy. However, with the hood up it's like having blinders-not great vision. I don't like the fact that it only snaps in-a pain when trying to take out liner or get back in.

It is a great jacket - but i agree with other reviewers that it is a bit boxy. Also, the liner does not zip in - it is held in only by 3 snaps. That can be a pain. Overall, for the price (at 60% off) it is an absolute steal!
Good Jacket

Bought this jacket mainly for snowsports. It worked great. I usually wear a Med, but this one seemed to fit a little large. My husband has the same jacket and his liner zips in, the women's version only snaps in at the sleeves and neck. Overall I think it is a good product and I would recommend it.

It was a great product, a gift for my g/f, but she wanted the jacket with the snap connectors in it. Just bought the wrong product is all... It was very nice though...

I wore this jacket on my trip to the Grand Canyon this month. Although it's already March, the canyon is till covered with snow! The jacket kept me warm, and it looked cute and fresh in the photos. The layer inside is a separate zip-up lining that can be wore by itself.
Fine & somewhat functional, but not expertise!~

I don't know what bushed means.... it doesn't zip...yerah it's kinda difficult to wear (together) the inside jacket loves to fall OUT of the outside jacket...but if it is cold it is great to just zip both and go...i love the hood. standard...and if i want something light but wind breaking- the outside is also good.
grreat on airrplanes to block out others' lights/use as a blanket.
wearing the inside by itslef is sometimes awkward because the sleeves are larger (to squeeze sweaters), which oversizes the appearnace of arms. It's also rreally warm in the center, but the sleeves are not as mcuch...kinda odd
but all in all i like it and the black of course never stains!
Warm but too bulky

The jacket is too short and bulky. It's very warm and really good for outdoor activities, but not very flattering for everyday use.
Cut is Short & Wider Than Expected

It broke my heart that the XS was too wide for my slender/athletic frame (5'2" 100 lbs). The jacket appeared slim on the image but on the actual body, it is much bulkier than it appeared. On brisk windy days, the bulk / extra room didn't offer much efficient warmth and inhibited freer movement. The two front pockets could be deeper to keep items more secure. On the up side, the key clip on the right front pocket helped with keeping my keys from falling out and getting swallowed in the snow. Internal pocket kept my cellphone secure; offering easy access to a ringing phone; my Classic video iPod can fit into this pocket. Pit zips offered major relief after running in the fields with our endless energy Golden puppy! I would've given this jacket 5 stars if it is was more of a performance or flattering feminine fit and if the liner zipped in vs. snaps. Snaps are not very secure, hence sustainability is questionable. With the snaps, the liner sloppily slips out when putting on or taking off the jacket. It would be a major plus to be able to stow the hood round the neck when not in use. When not in use, can you tune out that hood flopping in the wind? Just see!
