The North Face Aconcagua Down Jacket - Women's
The North Face Women's Aconcagua Jacket gives you the warmth and comfort of down without making you feel like an ambulatory marshmallow. The Aconcagua Jacket's nylon ripstop skin and water-resistant finish handles minor flurries and sprinkles, and this down jacket's sleek profile means it can layer under your favorite waterproof shell. A brushed collar eliminates chafing, and The North Face Aconcagua's 550-fill down keeps you cozy and compresses easily for traveling.
Bottom Line: Ward off winter chills with The North Face Aconcagua Jacket.

As predicted, my technical gear savvy little bro was right: this jacket is the way to go for sporty, "i need to be warm while i go get some coffee or walk the town in fine, but cold weather"... and warm, it is. maybe not as warm as i'd like it to be for a 4 mile trudge through south jersey in the winter woods, but warm. for serious technical application, i'd run for layers of synthetic. but, for everyday, this jacket is super. and the plum color is yummy.

I got this coat 3 weeks ago and I LOVE it!
Super warm, comfy and just all around a great jacket. While reading the reviews here I noticed someone saying it didn't fit them do to bust size... I'm 5'4" and a 34DD, the medium has more than enough room for me to fit into WITH a bulky sweater underneath :) All around this is another amazing North Face product!

The Aconcagua jacket is a great length and very lightweight. However, I did not like the satin nylon finish. I'm sure it is fantastic for a wet climate, but was too shiny for my liking. I ended upgrading to the Kosi, which is fabulous too.

The Jewel Blue color is pretty. I am a person who is always cold and this coat does a very good job at keeping the shivers at bay. The small was too tight across the chest, however (which isn't a typical problem for me), and both small and medium aren't long enough in the sleeves for my monkey arms. Also the cuffs don't keep my gloves tucked in or the cold from creeping in there. I kept the Medium anyway because of the wind blocking, warmth retaining properties and because no one else had this pretty blue color!

I live in Syracuse, NY which (according to wikipedia) gets more snow than any other U.S. city. I ended up returning my coat because I would probably end up buying another once January hit. The sleaves were too short, something I read in other reviews. Also, the sleaves do not have cuffs so cold air is more likely to sneak in. The outer fabric seems really durable and the plum color is hip. As far as a packable coat, it is light but there are a lot of stiff seams that make it tougher to smash down. The staff helped me decide between two other coats: Marmot sweater (which is not a sweater) and a Columbia jacket, both of which are 800 fill. I got the Columbia jacket because it came in the dark cherry color and am so far happy with it except the feathers do come out the seams.

I got this coat and I could not be happier!
it is so warm it is amazing. The fleece material on the chin area is baby soft and warm. I am NEVER cold in this coat and I live in Utah and the nights can be really cold. It has a great length, so all your lower back is covered and toasty warm. I had back surgery and it is VERY important to keep my lower back warm in the winter. It has a great length on the sleeves as well. I can pull my hands inside or leave them out. This coat is not bulky at all either. People cannot believe it is a down coat! It has such a great feminine cut to it. It fits under my snowboard shell. It does make my shell look puffy when i wear it under it, but i won't be cold! I seriously am so extremely happy I got this coat. I wear a medium in everything and the medium fits me perfect in this coat.
You will not be disappointed!

I've had the Aconcagua jacket for about a month now and its already seen a lot of wear. So far it's kept me warm and dry. I live in the South East, so the 550 fill is about the perfect weight for our milder winters. It's also not overly bulky, which I like. The only issue I have with it, is that the fill in the sleeves is a little uneven and the size seemed to run a little small when compared with my other North Face purchases. But all around a great jacket.

I love this jacket!! I have worked very hard to lose 70 lbs and was looking for a warm jacket that didn't make me look heavy. This jacket fit the bill. I am so pleased that I purchased one in Fall Green for my daughter's 16th birthday. Thank-you for your great selection and quick (3 day) delivery.

My wife really seems to like the jacket. It is not too bulky and provides great warmth for our cold Chicago winters. She took it skiing and it functioned as a great layering piece as well. The jacket does seem to run a bit small, so you may want to upsize

I have given this jacket to 5 people as Christmas gifts and they all love it! It's very stylish, light, and warm. Best of all the price was unbeatable considering it's The North Face.

This was my first North Face jacket purchase. I absolutely love the jacket and would highly recommend it to anyone. It's not like any other down jacket that I have ever seen. It's so light weight and comfortable and easy to drive in. It's not bulky at ALL. I have received several compliments when wearing it! This was my first purchase, but definitely not my last.

The Aconcagua North Face coat was exactly what I was looking for, my husband and I are traveling to Siberia in January and I needed a light yet warm coat as we do a lot of walking there. This coat is lighter that some of my fleece pullovers and it is extremely warm, I stood in the wind and never felt it penetrate. Totally recommend it for a cold weather coat.

I love this jacket... it didn't have many feathers coming out of it like the other reviewers said. I could definitely see how it would be too short on some people though. If you have long arms, I would get a different jacket. Other than that, it's great!

I bought the jacket in "ray yellow" in a size medium. The jacket is more yellow than it looks in the picture (where it looks more gold) and I really like the color. And what a GREAT price! I get compliments every time I wear it. I am 5'6 1/2" and 120 pounds and the medium fits perfectly. The jacket also arrived faster than I had expected.

This jacket--which is almost impossible to find in the North Face stores--is a good, attractive, lightweight jacket for cold weather. It wears well, and looks sleek rather than puffy. The one drawback...it's a little on the short side.

I ordered a North Face jacket from your website about a month ago. I was nervous about ordering off the internet, and as luck would have it, I picked a fantastic place to order from. My order was handled efficiently, and I was kept informed every step of the way. The jacket arrived exactly on time, and it is perfect! If it wasn't for backcountry.com, I could never afford a jacket like this one! Many of my co-workers have since ordered from you. Thank you so much!

I really love this jacket. It fits really nice, very slim. It is very lightweight and compact. The fabric is soft and of high quality. The collar's fleece lining is nice and warm around your neck it fits snugly around the neck when fully zipped. I do wish it had interior pockets though. The two exterior pockets have zippers which is great for keys and stuff. All in all, it’s a good purchase at a great outlet price.

I really liked this jacket. It is quite warm and pleasant. Granted, I didn't wear it through the coldest times here in Missoula this winter, but I have been enjoying it for the late winter quite a bit. It's puffy, but not too marshmallow-y. Its quite sleek and fitted, which I like a lot. The XS was the perfect size for me, the only thing I can think is that the sleeves could be just a wee bit longer. But I really like this jacket!

This jacket didn't work for me. It was not overstuffed, but it ran very large and short. I am only 5ft 8in and not particularly long-waisted, but the cut was all wrong. I've tried many North Face down jackets, and none of them seem to fit correctly. I bought the Patagonia Puff Rider and it fits much better.

If it only had a hood and longer sleeves it would be perfect. A hood that zips inside the collar would be helpful, that way I wouldn't have to switch coats when I need head coverage. For tall women, the body of the coat is a good fit, but the arms need to be a little longer. The length looks especially short when I wear gloves. Otherwise I have enjoyed wearing it and it keeps me warm especially with a layer of fleece underneath. I'll just have to find longer gloves.

I live in Washington State, where it rains all the time. This jacket is the perfect jacket for the weather here. There's no hood though so I usually carry an umbrella or wear a beanie. I was extremely surprised at how light the jacket was when I received it. However, it has kept me warm and comfortable while walking to my college classes at night. Another big plus is that the jacket doesn't make me look like a big fat marshmallow.

I haven't had a lot of north face (a ten year old fleece and some odds and ends)but the cut and quality of this jacket seems good. The jacket is not too warm for a mild winter day.
