The North Face Nuptse Down Vest - Men's

Nice and light, works well under a jacket or on a nice fall day. Since this is not at all waterproof I prefer to have it under a shell since my arms stay warm generally instead of a whole down jacket. 700 down is a nice touch to keep it lighter and very packable if you don't want to wear it. Plus since it is TNF you can always know you will look trendy on the streets of a big city.

I've used North Face gear for years. The vest is yet light with three pockets; two outside pockets and one large inside pocket.

It's as simple as this. If you're looking to purchase a vest, and you're seeking a stylish, comfortable, super warm, reliable brand, awesome versatility, then stop procrastinating and just get this vest. I've used it only a few times so far but I have not one bad thing to say about it. Outstanding on all accounts.

You won't be disappointed with The North Face Nuptse vest. It is warm, versatile, and it conveniently stuffs into its own pocket, making it very packable. I took it on my last high-altitude backpacking trip and while I was not wearing the vest, it made the most luxurious backcountry pillow I have ever used! One thing I dislike is that the inside of the neck doesn't have a soft lining. The oil from my skin has slowly turned the material darker here, which looks a little funny. I believe I've seen models in stores this winter that do have the lining, so maybe it's something they are putting on new models. However, I don't think anyone but me will notice. The other downside is that you look like just another The North Face yuppy when wearing it around town. Regardless, with a fit better than the down vests of any other make (I've tried most of them on), some things can't be helped.

I've had my vest for a little over a year and worn it over an apex jacket in anything shy of blizzards. I've been very warm in all conditions. However, a hole appeared in the front right pocket panel about a month ago. Unfortunately, it's going to cost $40 to fix. Ripstop almost- but not quite. And, as one should expect, it's a "lifetime" warrenty with a bunch of exceptions. Overall I'd say it's a decent quality jacket and is great for layering- I just wish the material would've held up better.

The only negative I have is the sizing, the large (which I stuck with) is a little snug when u zip it up over a sweater, while the XL was way too big & looked ridiculous on me. But, I still really like this vest & will prolly get another color since they're on-sale now!

Light weight great insulation perfect as a suplimental layer or outer layer with a T-shirt under. Also very fashionable. Overall good product, very happy with purchase.

I have a heat problem. When I dress for cold weather I always push up my sleeves because my arms get too hot. This vest is the answer to all my problems. Good warmth with no overheating. It looks good too, I wear it to the office and don't look like a grom swimming in a snowboarding jacket. Although it falls under the 'puffy jacket' label, it is not bulky or cumbersome. Oh yah, the pockets are comfy too.

Ive had mine for 4 years now, I love it super warm, works as pillow. Only thing better is the new ones zip into the inner pocket/stuffsack. After trying other companys down vests, I bought the north face vest and it truely is the best. My wife has 4 of them. quite possibly the best vest ever.

The Nuptse Vest is fantastic. I was sold on it when used a friend's during a recent to to Asilomar. Warm, comfortable and extremely versatile. Only one warning. seems North face clothing runs small, so check to see whether ordering one size small then your usual size might work better for you.(I might be between two sizes. A challenge with a vest I would ideally like to have the option of wearing a sweater underneath.

Not too puffy, exceptionally warm and it zips into my 7 year old Mountain Jacket! What more could I want! I spoke to a customer support person with their online chat and they were very helpful.

Aside from one rather unfortunate run in with my angry cat this vest is perfect. My cat managed to tear a small hole in the side which resulted in the loss of some feathers. Luckily I was able to fix the hole before any serious loss of down. I've worn this vest non-stop since I got it for Christmas. I don't even wear jackets any longer. A sweater and this vest is all I need on even the coldest days. Sure my arms get cold, but that is why I plan upon buying the full Nuptse jacket as soon as they go on sale. Even with cold arms I feel more comfortable in the cold that I did with any previous jackets I've owned. TNF has really won me over with this product. Now if only they made down pants.

Since I bought the vest in late December I have found it to be one of the best articles of clothing that i have ever bought. The versatility of the vest is great. I've been wearing it all types of weather and I find it especially good in windy conditions where it blocks out the bitterly cold winds. It really works well on days when a jacket is too much but you need something to keep you warm.

As my boyfriend was trying on his new North Face vest on Christmas, I noticed a hole in the seam on the side. He never wears North Face b/c he's always problems with their gear and their return policies...now i see what he means and will not buy TNF any longer.

I purchased the Nuptse Vest for my husband and he loves it. You can wear it with a light-weight shirt or a sweater, it's very versatile depending on the weather. I have the Nuptse jacket and am enjoying that as well. I highly recommend buying this vest.

I love this vest, it's super warm. But it runs big so order a size down. Very good to wear under a shell when it's super cold or over a hoody around town.

The North Face vest is among one of the warmest that I have ever owned. It has been the only thing that I can enjoy at Steeler games this season.

Not only is this jacket great for autumn weather but it also works very well as a winter jacket when worn with a fleece for arm coverage. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a warm lightweight jacket.

This vest goes with me everywhere. Great backup to have anywhere you go. Lightweight and easily stowed away when not needed.

My Nuptse vest is terrific, I tested it in bad conditions in Pirineos and the performance was great, no more cold conditions. It could be better if it have a compression bag. Very good purchase, I’m happy.

This North Face vest is very warm. I was surprised to find out how warm it was for as little as it weights. I will enjoy it many years to come.

The Wheat colour is more of a Dark Gold colour than a Beige. Normally North Face gear has more padding - missing some feathers I think.

I've owned a Nuptse Vest for over six years and the uses are endless. I've even used it as a pillow on many occations. But the primary use is that of a versatile layering peice which can stow to the size of a small flat cantaloupe. On the coldest of days I'll start with a fleece followed by the vest. To make everything stick together I zip in the fleece which locks in the vest between my shell and fleece. I opted for the vest over the jacket for mobility purposes when layering. The Nuptse Vest also works well as mid-section protection in milder weather over a wind proof fleece. Bottom line the name of the game here is versatility.
