I have a pair about a year old.
Love 'em, but the glue holding the zippers on is failing rapidly. Will be sending them in for warranty service, and will report back with the results.
how long are these pants? Short, regular or long inseam?

I got these for my brother. He said: "It was great. We made it to the top of Mt Kenya after walking through rain, hail and snow for two days."
I got two questions:1 - could you fit fleece pants underneath
I got two questions:1 - could you fit fleece pants underneath these?2 - how waterproof are they? (e.g., what would happen if you sat down in the snow?)I'm looking for a pant that will work primarily as a spring/summer/fall rock climbing pant but that could double as an outer layer for alpine/mountaineeringThanks!!

If you size them up, you can layer for sure, and they are water resistant, but laying in the snow would make them wet for sure.

I guess you could try lightweight or midweight bottom underwear.

Magic Pants

I love these pants. Very comfortable and good designed. Their breathable rating and four-way stretch construction become the great advantage for hiking. I wear The North Face Paramount Convertible Pant size Large/Regular and they fit perfect (I'm 5'9"). In compare with them The North Face Apex Trekking Pant a bit longer, and it upset me a little bit. But in general- MAGIC PANTS ))))))

You'll love these pants so much! Feel like I don't have any pants on at all. They are so flexible, great for hiking and climbing. They move so freely! These are worth even more than what they are selling for. TNF ROCKS!
There is no better place on the web than BACKCOUNTRY!
hi there, i where size 33 waist pants and i'm 5 foot 6 inches
hi there, i where size 33 waist pants and i'm 5 foot 6 inches in height.Should i go with 32 or 33, and are these available in a "short" length compared to regular which i fear will be quite too long on me ??Thank you kindly for your time and thought.

Hi Spazz, I'm a 33 waist and I'm 5'11". The 34s are too large in the waist and even the regular inseam is too long for me. I would order a 32 next time if I decide to live with the extra length. They are really nice pants! shempe

The best part about these pants is the mobility you have in them. They arn't that super tight pants that constrict your movements. They have a nice stretch to them that gives you a full range of motion. I use them mainly for hiking and their durablity is nothing less than great. As far as the lengths go, they are just right for me at 5'11" but they can be kept closed at the bottom keeping them off the ground.
Another great product from North Face!
