The North Face Trilithium Triclimate Jacket - Men's - 2007
Thanks to a snap-in insulated liner, The North Face Men's Trilithium Triclimate Jacket gives you temperature-control options on the hill. When winter storms are raging on the mountain, the waterproof breathable Trilithium Triclimate Jacket's fully taped seams block moisture, and the adjustable hood keeps your head dry. On slushy spring ski days, un-snap the liner and wear the three-in-one Trilithium Triclimate Jacket's shell. On dry days, pull the liner over your ski shirt and hit the slopes.
Bottom Line: The North Face Trilithium Triclimate Jacket's snap-out liner gives you warming and cooling options on the hill.

Ski Jacket

I previously wore a Columbia with a fleece liner. I decided to go to the Northface jacket based on the positive ratings that they had recieved.
Positives -
+ Warm jacket although questionably thin inner jacket liner. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was warm and confortable even at 10 deg. F and -10 wind chill.
+ Tall neck on jacket provides good cover to tuck your face into when riding the lift and the wind is harsh.
Although not a fan of ski jackets with hoods, the included one looks to be of good quality and a plus to have it removable.
+ Ski Lift tag holder include in jacket with "quick" clip.
+ Seperate pocket in outer shell for Ipod/Cell with cord hole for headset
Negatives.
- A major drawback for me was that the inner jacket did not zip into the shell as I have had the Columbia jackets do in the past. Its annoying to use as an everyday jacket and need to zip up twice.
- Although this is a minor consideration, the hood section on my wife's Spyder jacket has a flap section to neatly tuck the zipper from the hood into on the jacket. I found that a very well thought out addition that was not on my North Face TriLithium.
Final Analysis
Nearly a month of use(mostly skiing) and I'm fairly happy with the jacket. Probably will consider a few of the negatives on this jacket in the purchase of my next one. How well the jacket wears compared will determine if i stay with North Face or look to another brand.
HUGE ++ to the staff of Backcountry.com online chat. Great customer service when the first jacket was ordered too small and an exchange was needed. They were friendly and very helpful.

Great jacket but not perfect. I don't like it cannot zip together so you feel you bought two jacket & it is very hard to get off the jacket in one time.
TNF Makes Better Men's Jackets

1. I didn't like the fact that this model is made in China. TNF products made in China are usually inferior to those made elsewhere (e.g.; Bangladesh, Vietnam).
2. The cut is an oversized small; the sleeves are too puffy and baggy.
3. The non-zip in lining is a nightmare.
