The North Face Vortex Triclimate Jacket - Men's

An insulated liner and a waterproof breathable shell combine to form The North Face Men's Vortex Triclimate Jacket. The shell and liner can be worn together or alone to adapt to changing conditions. Fully taped seams on the Vortex Triclimate Jacket block moisture, the adjustable hood keeps your noggin dry throughout winter storms, and the powder skirt keeps snow out. The zip-in liner gives you a soft, comfy coat with warm synthetic insulation for dry spring days on the hill or jaunts into town.

Bottom Line: Wet winter days, warm and dry spring days—The North Face Vortex Trilclimate Jacket handles them all.

This may look and feel light, but dont' let it fool you. Very warm, comfortable and excellent in warm to very cold weather. Highly recommend it.

Debating which size is for me - small or medium. My neck is 14.5 - 15 (depending on brand) and my waste is exactly 30.

Based on some of your posts on North Face equipment they tend to fit a bit on the tight side. Since I'm not tall, I'm also afraid of going with Medium, which may have too long arm sleeves.... Can anyone help? :)

Between Small and Medium would have been nice..

if you are looking for warmth and comfort, this jacket is it. I have never had a jacket like this before. Highly recommend it for the outdoors person, or skier. A must if you live in a cold climate. Vince from Quebec, Canada

Perfect for all types of weather, only negative is slightly tight around the neck/chin area. Lost of pockets, inner shell is very comfortable and warm. Does not feel heavy but keeps you nice and toasty.

The North Face Vortex Triclimate Jacket - Men's

By: AMassachusetts Mom (1)
January 6, 2008

I purchased a The North Face Vortex Triclimate Jacket - Men's for my son. The quality and warmth of the jacket are good, as we expected. However the design of the jacket we received differs from the photo shown online. The color we chose was Asphalt Gray/Zinc Gray. The photo shows a very simple design with asphalt gray shoulders and the remainder of the jacket zinc gray. The jacet we received has accent stripes in a pale gray in addition to the Asphalt Gray/Zinc Gray colors. These stripes are not shown in the online photo. My son was disappointed in the design as he preferred a simpler design. We decided to keep the jacket anyway as the weather was cold and he needed a jacket to wear immediately.

Vortex Triclimate

I got the vortex as a Christmas gift. I'm 6'3 so I was wondering whether I should get a large for my hight but i'm pretty skin so i thought i might need to go with a medium. I got a large and glad i did, its narrow enough and is plenty long. The jacket itself is great it has lots of great features. The zip out liner can be worn by itself as a light jacket and the powderguard is a great feature for snow sports or wind. and the Hyvent outer material is great for a rain jacket. together they may a really warm jacket. Thanks a lot for the great gear.

At first I thought the liner was way to shiny but after actually wearing it out with out the coat its not that bad. The jacket is very warm.

Right on the Money

This jacket is very warm. We have had below freezing twice in wisconsin so far and I really didnt need anymore layers besides the liner and shell. Together they are a perfect wind and water shield. My North Face brimmed beanie fits very nicely under the adjustable hood and I also try an find an excuse to wear the lining by itself as it very stylish, warm, and comfortable. The goggle pocket is also very tough and big. I use it to store my bag that contains my sony cyber-shot. Such a great winter product for those in the upper-Midwest seeking some maneuverability in their warmth.

Vortex Jacket.

North Face once again has managed to make a product you don't feel guilty for spending so much money on. Being from Montana I have had a chance to try this jacket out a few times already, and have found it to being really warm. Which is really surprising feeling how light this jacket is. So far it hasn't been cold enough to put this jacket to real test but considering im burning up in it when the weathers in the 20's it should do the trick when the temps drop.

I got this 2 years ago. I still love it. The liner in really warm, but it is not windproof. I got a Windstopper. It zips into the shell. When it is really cold I use all shell, windstopper and thermal liner. It is a great system.
