The North Face Surreal Jacket - Men's - 2007
The Primaloft insulated, Gore-Tex protection of The North Face Men's Surreal Jacket puts your mind on taking the next ridge, not wondering whether your gear has the guts to handle it. You'll be comfortable, cinched down and warm in freezing spindrift, and dry when the snow turns to sleet. Gore guarantees that their Performance Shell will keep you waterproof, and it's been updated for increased breathability in high-output activities. Primaloft is the pinnacle of synthetic outerwear insulation—it's light, packable, and retains its thermal value even if it gets wet. The North Face supplements the third-party tech in the Surreal Jacket with laser-cut bonded zips and anatomical panel construction. Pockets for your essential gadgets and goggles adorn the inside, and an integrated RECCO reflector provides supplemental assistance that could save you in avalanche conditions.
Bottom Line: When the weather turns nasty in the backcountry and you're just starting your turns, you'll be happy you brought the Surreal Jacket.

Hands Down the Best Ski Jacket

Without a doubt, the best ski jacket I've ever owned. If you're not familiar with Primaloft, it's a miracle insulating material - super lightweight, not bulky, but fantastic insulation. This jacket is perfect for a variety of conditions. The size runs a little large (which seems to be the case for many The North Face outerwear)- normally I wear a large, but medium in this jacket fits me perfectly.

this is a truly fantastic one piece jacket. I've used it skiing in huge snows, cold temp -2C, and it ALWAYS keeps me warm and dry. The hood fits over a helmet well and also adjusts well for wear with out a helmet. The jacket's side vents breath well when opened so temperature reg. is decent. One word of caution is that this is a one piece jacket, wich is great for having one jacket that you throw on, but be aware that it's lines with TNF's primaloft and this jacket is WARM. I run a bit warm anyways, but boy I had this on in some 5-10C weather and was too warm when the sun was out. I was only wearing a light first layer and a mid weight Helly Hansen pollypro top and was grilling. If you're looking for a one piece jacket this is the one, if you need more versatility however and might want to wear an unlined shell on a warmer day you may want to think about TNF free thinker shell instead.
