The North Face Boundary Triclimate Jacket - Boys' - 2007
The North Face Boys' Boundary Triclimate Jacket's three-in-one system keeps your son warm from the first hint of brisk air in October until the last bit of snow melts in May. The Boundary Triclimate Jacket's seam-sealed hood and shell use a waterproof breathable 2-layer HyVent fabric to withstand November drizzles and February powder days. The North Face included a removable Triclimate synthetic liner to add extra insulation to the Boundary Triclimate Jacket. The shell and liner can each be worn solo for just the right amount of warmth and weather protection on any given day.
Bottom Line: The North Face Boundary Triclimate knows no limits when it comes to weather resistance.

I order 2 of these jackets for my boys. I'm returning both only because the liner doesn't zip into the shell. My boys will never take the time to zip both. Good looking jacket but need one more step in the design...
Good qulity kids jacket for the price

This jacket meets all the needs of my children, i.e., school, windy baseball/soccer days, camping/hiking, or playing in the rain. The removable liner plus shell combination make sense for us since we need both and buying them as seperate items cost more than we paid for this jacket. It's stylish and fits well. The only drawback is the waterproof coating does not come close to the breathability of more expensive materials, but then again, this jacket is not that expensive.

It is perfect for the Pacific NW weather. My boy loves it.

I bought a size L for an 11 year old, 65 pounds, but returned it because he said the arms were tight. The fleece was not "zippered in". We had a smiliar The North Face waterproof 3/1, more expensive, with a zip-in fleece and full hood in size M, bought a few years ago, and the cut was much better.
Great coat for kids

My son hates new things, but he seemed to develop a fondness for this coat immediately. The versatility of the coat is wonderful as you can use the soft inner fleece for slightly warmer days and add the shell on snowy or colder days. Highly recommended. Price could be better but you have to pay for a truly wind resistant, water resistant coat (goretex).
could be better

I was looking for system jackets for my boys, they both wanted North Face. I liked this one and the price was right but the only problem is that it does not zip together. It would be much better if it zipped together to make 'one' jacket instead of having to zip twice.
