The North Face Paramount Utility Pant - Men's

The North Face Men's Paramount Utility Pant's double-layer knees protect your legs while you bushwhack through dense Alaskan brush—or as you remove disgusting leaves from your stubborn gutters. These water-resistant, ripstop pants give you added durability and protection when you need it most—whether in a thistle patch or teetering on the edge of your roof. The quick-drying Paramount's DWR coating repels dirt and moisture while the UPF30+ fabric protects your skin.

Bottom Line: Brave the Alaskan bush or your overflowing gutters in The North Face Paramount Utility Pants.

Wonderful pants

I have 2 pair of the dune beige, and I love'm. the legs can be folded up and buttoned, so no grease marks on your pants from your chain. A commuters dream pant. Plus they don't bunch up. they are thin enough to wear in the sweltering South Carolina summertime.

Very pleased with this product. would definitely buy again. the brown color hides a lot of dirt! wore camping and they looked good enough to go out to eat in on the way back, and i'm kind of a pigpen. very nice fit too, i'm 34" w and 34" length and they fit perfect.

You can't go wrong

I want to second the statements made by "TNF Nailed It" and "Best Travel Pants Ever". Both of their reviews sum up my experience with the pants. They are all around fantastic.

slim fit

Good quality item. The 34 waist was snugger than I imagined it would be, so I guess these are sized more like trousers than jeans (34 jeans are roughly 36 trousers). Luckily for me, I just shed 15 lbs of winter flab, so they fit great now.

TNF nailed it!

By:

I'm not a brand junkie by any means, but TNF has scored with this product. 3 days in mist and rain in Macau, and for as light as they are, I stayed warm and unexpectedly dry for the most part. Pants were completely dry after being indoors for ten minutes. Great security pockets, back pockets are large and deep enough to carry a passport size wallet. Extremely packable and they don't wrinkle. Good Stuff!

Best Travel Pants Ever

By:

Just got back from a 3.5 month trip to China, Nepal and India. I wore these pants about 50% of the days. The biggest selling point to me was their versatility in terms of comfort. I wore them in every sort of climate ranging from torrential downpours in China during a typhoon, hiking at 17,000 ft in the snow in Nepal and walking through a desert in western India. They worked in pretty much every climate. For those who intend to take these on trips, the 2 zip pockets were also excellent...especially the one that GH found to be annoying in his review. It might not be needed if you are just using them at home. But its highly useful if you're looking to stash your wallet in a pocket that won't be immediately obvious (and accessible) to pickpockets.

Nice, but had to return

By:

These seem like really nice pants, I wanted them, but unfortunately for me , I'm a 35 in. waist and the pants only come 34 or 36 in. One too tight, one too big. I opted for N.F. Paramount convertible pant which has the advantage of an adjustable built in belt and stretch waist construction so you can dial in the comfort. I also bought N.F. Meridian pant which has similar waist const. Both pants come in a short length. Come on ladies, 35 in. waist... short inseam... I'm a catch!

The North Face Paramount pants: love them

By:
July 28, 2007

This has become one of my favorite pieces of gear. As practical -or more- than jeans, and better looking. Love the fabric and fit. Especially love the "long" size, which is perfect for me. Have bought two pairs, so far...

Great Pants

By:
April 2, 2007

This is the best pair of paints I have purchased in a long time. I have used them for work, biking, weekend wear, and xc skiing over light thermal layer. They are cool on hot days, warm on cool days and simply exceptional. I have to admit I bought a pair in both colors after trying the first pair. The material is much tougher than I expected but still thin. Two minor issues. 1.) Cat hair clings to them like no one's business. ;) and 2.) The zippered pocket on the right side does not need to be there. If you cut the dangly thing then this is not nearly as obnoxious but in future Patagonia paramount designs they should wake up and remove this. The only other thing that I would like to say is this a great bike commuting pant. Weather-resistant and the buttons near the calf allow you to roll up the paint and button easily while riding. I have worn either of the two pairs now for two weeks since I purchased and that is no lie. Enjoy!
