The North Face Condor Triclimate Jacket - Men's

The North Face Men's Condor Triclimate Jacket is a waterproof, breathable softshell you should zip up when you're headed to the resort or the backcountry with your sticks en tow. The highly stretchable and abrasion-resistant material moves with you as you take on some sick pow. The waterproof, seam sealed, and breathable Apex universal softshell face can handle any abuse you dish out, while the interior is soft-brushed for complete comfort. Take off the hood and open the pitzips when you heat up. When the sun hits the mountain, stuff the easily compressible Apex in your backpack, and be on your way.

Bottom Line: An all-around, necessary softshell for the resort or the backcountry.

Es expectacular, la uso en Chile y aqui llueve de verdad, calentita, uno no pasa frio con ella para esquiar muy buena, muy distinto a lo otro que he usado anteriormente, la recomiendo en todo sentido.

Pockets are a problem

By: nickdu(1)

I was planning to return the jacket anyway because I ordered the wrong size. If I had ordered the correct size I would have returned it because of the pockets. They are *way* too high. You have to reach way up to get your hands into the pockets and then when they're in there the whole weight of your arms are supported by the bottom seam such that I wouldn't doubt the seam will start to fail after a few months. Other than that the jacket may be just fine. I currently own some flavor of north face 3-in-1 and still plan to find another one, just not the condor.

Great Jacket

The Condor Triclimate Jacket has lived up to all of my expectations. The weekend I got, I was up north in 7 degree weather with high wind gusts and it kept me warm and dry. Outstanding coat. Only one minor drawback is the pockets. I would like to have normal pockets in it, but I have adjusted to the Alpine pockets and have no problems with them. Well worth the money!

This Coats a Ripper! (Literally)

By: OneBird(1)

This is my first experience with North Face, which I've always assumed based off of price and popularity was an outstanding brand. Thats not the case with this jacket. On it's first day out a slight fall on some ice scraped and tore a rip in back of this coat, and after a couple more trips to the hill there's another huge rip in the sleeve where it got hung up on some trees. I've been skiing for 20+ years and have never had such a bad experience with a coat. The zippers stick, the hoods not helmet compatible and when zipped up all the way it's a tight fit over your face. I'm not very impressed with it's water proofing either. Sorry about all the negativity, but the best part to me? North Face doesn't warranty against burns, tears or rips.

Great Jacket

I got this jacket as a birthday gift and its awesome! I work in NYC and this jacket is great in the rain and for windy days. I also like the fact that this jacket has the shell that you can wear alone.

Well built, very technical, terrific fleece

This is a superb jacket. I considered the less expensive 3-in-1 jacket from The North Face (Amplitude) but really wanted the Apex shell over the Heatseeker - to me this is worth the price difference alone. Build quality is great, outer shell is quite thick and waterproof - my only gripe is that the outer jacket pockets are way high up - like just below your boobs. Heavy duty zippers, detachable hood, pit vents...standard North Face high quality. Also, I usually get a Large in North Face (44" chest) but the XL was a better fit for me. I'd recommend to anyone...good luck finding it in black.

Rec'd the jacket today, tried it one with what I'll be wearing on summit hikes this Winter in the Eastern US. Great fit, especially when I walk off a little padding around the midsection.

the FIRST is the BEST

VERSATILITY is the keyword for this jacket, keeps me warm on a cold ski day (triclimate), very comfy indoors (fleece), and cool and dry on a wet day (jacket). I love the detachable hood. the pit vents works ok. this jacket's got a nice fit. the weight's just right, too. the first is always the best, and that stays for now.

Good Jacket

December 25, 2006

This is my first The North Face winter jacket that I bought in college. So far, I've survived Virginia's winter with sweatshirts and other coats I bought from other stores. So far, the jacket is working for me. It protects me from wind though I still feel cold somehow. The inner lining is perfect with everything because it looks great. I'd get another one of this condor jacket if I could.

Great purchase

The jacket has been great. I can wear the shell alone when the weather outside isn't too bad and use it in the jacket when it's cold (i.e.- Virginia Tech night football game). Jacket also kept me very warm when I went hiking in the pouring rain. Very happy with my North Face.

Great all around jacket - versatile.

Here in the midwest weather is crappy and upredictable, but with this coat, I am covered for rain, wind, sub-zero temps, chilly days, etc. No need to buy a seperate fleece just sport the inner jacket (apec) alone, it's warm. Nice amount of pockets, good vent locations. Worn in rain, and the Hyvent repels/blocks the water no prob. Nice adjustable hood, snaps to collar for tight fit, which you can adjust. I wear the shell alone, in temps around 35-40 and above, lower than that I'll put lining in.
