The North Face Oso Hooded Fleece Jacket - Women's

I get petted by a million people a day when I wear this. It is a really attractive cut and I always get tons of comments on it! Just for sizing, I am 5'10", 140 lbs and I got a medium.

This jacket feels just like a rabbit, it's wonderful; however, the fleece rubbed off on all my shirts and ruined quite a few. I exchanged it for a second and the same thing happened, even after washing.

This jacket is ever sooo soft. I catch myself petting the sleeve. I havent had a problem with it shedding as other reviews have said. Also as other reviews said, it does fit a bit snug though not enought to return it for a larger size. I usually take a large in the North Face so I ordered a large. Its not too small, just snug & doesnt leave a lot of room for layering underneath. Somehow the sleeves arent as long as they usually are in The North Face coats /jackets. Im 5'9" so that is one reason I buy North Face for a good sleeve & torso fit. The blue color I got is wonderful. The fact that it can be cinched at the waist & has a hood are bonuses too. All in all a pretty good jacket!!

I bought this jacket for my daughter for Christmas and it is even better than I expected!! It is a GORGEOUS jacket, so soft, warm, cozy and fits perfectly!!! She LOVES it. She wears it inside, outside, and even slept in it the first night!!! We live in the Chicago area, and it has been COLD...! This jacket is ideal because if the temps are less than about 30 degrees, she can wear it under another ski jacket, as an extra snuggly layer, or if it's 30 degrees or more, she can wear it by itself.

Not only is this the softest fleece jacket I have ever found, but it is attractive and true to size in my opinion. Each time I wear it someone admires it.

I could not give it 5 stars because it does shed a lot, unlike other high quality fleece I own. In particular, my seatbelt grabs fuzz and then later applies it to blouses that I never wore at the same time as the jacket! I like the jacket so much I plan to keep it, not wear it while driving, and HOPE that the shedding stops completely over time. So far a couple of washings has not reduced the shedding problem...

I think that a fleece jacket that costs as much as this one should be perfect, though.

This jacket ruined a couple of my shirts from shedding, so I exchanged it for another thinking maybe mine was defective, but I had the same problem. Even with washing, the material falls off and sticks to everything. Besides that, it's a really cute jacket and unbelievably soft, but I ended up returning it for a similar jacket by mountain hardwear.

Love it. Its warm and very soft. No shedding problem yet. Thought it felt a little snug in the hips, like I can't wear something bulky underneath if I want to zipper it up. But perhaps I like a looser feel. Like having a warm jacket without all the bulk.

My 9 y.o. daughter is wearing the xs. She is tall for her age and weighs about 75 lbs. It is very well made and VERY soft. She refuses to take it off and uses it as a blanket when she is chilly. Great back-to-school jacket. I think I will order the black for myself. She has the Odyssey Pink.

Bought this for my daughter. She has received tons of compliments. A great warm jacket, very stylish and she loves the hood. The shedding is not an issue. I bought one for myself and wear it all the time. The fit is a little on the short side with the jacket ending at the hips.

This is my favorite jacket of all times! It is soft and warm from the minute I put it on. My boys even like it! Wish I could have one in every color!

I agree with the comment by Lynn on December 16, 2008 this is a warm jacket and very soft however it sheds little fussies something terrible.

great jacket - very warm

The hoody is very soft and warm. I have ordered several things from Backcountry.com and have always had very fast service and received it in excellent condition.

The major asset of this jacket is the softness. I was really bummed when it left fuzz all over my shirt the first couple of times I wore it. I've worn it about 7 or 8 times now and the fuzz problem is pretty much gone. I haven't washed it yet, so I don't know how well it wears or how soft it is after a wash.

I have one and just bought one for my mom...we are always so cold...these are worth every penny...forget layers with this one all I need is a tank top underneath and I'm toasty warm...they aren't water proof but that doesn't matter, they still help you retain heat even when wet...the oso is also oh so soft...only downfall is they tend to run a bit smaller in width than my other north face jackets..not a big deal because you really don't need to layer under it but it runs a bit shorter in the sleeve and waist length too..I would suggest you order up a size if you like your jackets loose or if you are tall. I'm 5'5 and the medium hits me right at my wrist bone...the waist almost touches the top my low rise jeans..not a long jacket in my normal size but VERY warm and comfy....worth it!!

forgot to mention in my review that they do shed but only when new and unwashed...just need to wash it a couple of times and the shedding problem will be gone...It's a very soft warm jacket..get one!!

This coat is so soft, cuddly, and warm. Feels great - cool colors. I love it. I found it run a bit big though so I want for a smaller size.

My daughter loved the jacket, but it was too small. It seemed to run small for its size. We returned it, and tried to order a bigger size, but they were out of stock (bummer)-she had gotten it for a Christmas present.

i love this fuzzy fleece!! i feel like brown bear! although i wish i would have gotten a size large, because it does run a little small.

The Oso fleece hoody I received a few weeks ago is great! I have received a lot of compliments on the look and the feel.

The feel of this jacket is crazy soft - that part is great. I'm not as enthusiastic about the fit - thought it would have a bit more of a streamlined fit on the side. I still love and would recommend this jacket for anyone who wants a warm, cozy comfy hoodie that's bound to become the first one you reach for when you get chilly.

I live in 0 degree F weather here in Alaska. I was impressed this jacket was warm enough to run from the store to my car. It's very cozy and comfortable for casual winter wear, just not for snowmachining or skiing. Everyone HAS to touch my coat! (it can get annoying, but can you blame them?) It hasn't shedded on me at all. Not even a little bit. I wear black too...nothing. I've tried on some knock offs that shedded really bad, but this NorthFace OSO does not! I get a lot of compliments with this jacket ;)

My 11 yr. old loves her new coat. It is warm and fuzzy, and I can hardly get her to take it off...except to sleep. I think I'd like one for myself. Also, your price was cheaper than everyone else! Thanks so much!

This is the best fleece I've ever had... It's so soft and comfortable. I was worried the fleece would get messed up in the wash, but I used a delicate cycle and a low tumble dry, and it came out just as soft as when I first got it. My sister even got one after I did because she loved it so much.

This is my favorite article of clothing. So soft and warm! Everyone comments on it. Not as fitted as pictured, but that was ok. Does shed, which is mildly irritating...but not enough to prevent me from planning to order another one!

I bought this jacket for my daughter as a Christmas present. She is very pleased with it. It has a really nice sheen and doesn't look like every other North Face that her friends own. We haven't had any problem with shedding, but the jacket is VERY fitted and runs fairly small, so that makes it difficult to layer the jacket overy other bulkier pieces. Other than that minor issue, she absolutely LOVES it.

So I just recieved this jacket and I am in love. Yes it is slim fitting so just get the next size up.

I love this hoodie. It's so soft. Haven't washed it yet but a friend has one and said not to dry it or it will become hard. I am very happy with it.

I just bought the OSO Jacket & love it. It sheds a little along the zipper,but that stopped after washing. I wash it in cold water & use Downey in the rinse cycle which holds the softness in. I dry in the dryer till it's damp dry & hang to air dry. Works Great! I'd love one in every color. It's so light weight even with the hoodie & keeps me warmer than any jacket I've ever owned!

I loved this fleece when I first got it, but after washing it only once on delicate cycle it sheds EVERYWHERE. It leaves fuzzies all over in my car, hair, shirts I'm wearing underneath it. I would not recommend wasting your money to wear it one time before you have fuzzies shedding all over the place! I am very disappointed in this shirt.

This jacket is very soft and flattering. It does run small though, so I would go up 1 size.

I'm with the love and hate on this one! I love the touch of the OSO but have to admit that I don't love the fit on it. I had the opposite problem and felt this jacket ran big. The jacket feels amazing but kind of has a glossy look to it which I'm not totally digging.

Maybe I just got a lemon, but all the zippers on mine constantly are getting stuck and splitting! Super disappointed in mine. I think they run a bit big too, I got a medium and definitely should have went with a small! I got the brownie color and my kids just think I'm a teddy bear when I wear it, so I do love the feel, that's why I picked it, but if I had to spend that much all over again I'd go with the similar one from Mountain Hardwear.

This is the softest pet-able material ever made! I finally have something to look forward to when it gets cold outside... The Oso hoody! Normally wear a medium, but the large fits perfect. I have had the hoody for 2 months, and the material doesn't pill up like other polar fleece. Love it. Love it. Love it.

I have the Brownie color, and this jacket has become such a well-loved piece of clothing, I have nicknamed it my Baby Brown Bear! Every time I wear it, people are compelled to pet my arm because it's so soft and buttery, and then they go out and buy one for themselves :-) It was a bit of an impulse buy for me when I saw it, but it's the best $$ I've ever spent on outerwear, bar none.

This jacket is perfect for wearing to a yoga class. It is so soft and comfy. Order a size up than normal for the best fit.

This is a great jacket but I agree with the fuzz problem. I wonder if washing it will help take care of that. Any suggestions there? Anyway, besides that, it fits great and is super soft and warm (but not too warm). I was in a restaurant and the waitress touched my jacket to say thanks for something and came back for a second touch cause it was so soft. I get a lot of compliments on the jacket as well. Nice alternative for the Denali. I even bought my mom one for Mother's day!
