The North Face Jasper Canyon GTX Hiking Boot - Women's - 2007
The North Face Women's Jasper Canyon GTX Hiking Boot offers the stability and support you need to carrying heavy loads on multi-day adventures. The Jasper Canyon is a rugged backpacking or heavy hiking boot that handles the rigors of the trail like no other. When you need the sturdiness of a full leather boot but don't want the sturdy feel or break-in period, the Jasper Canyon comes to the rescue with tons of support mixed with forward flex and breathability. Seam-sealed construction and a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane keeps you dry in the backcountry and the northodic, ergonomically-designed multi-density footbed adds more comfort to your trek.
Bottom Line: The North Face Women's Jasper Canyon GTX Hiking Boot acts like a burly backpacking boot, but doesn't wear like one.

Excellent Hiking Shoes

These shoes are great! There was absolutely no break-in period. I've had them for a year, and they've been everywhere with me: sand (pumice sand!), snow, on the trail, and around town. After a year, I'm pleased to say that they're still water-resistant. I recently took them on a 9 mile hike- no blisters or hot spots. They fit well with normal socks, or with thick socks. I've decided to buy a couple more pairs for when these wear out or become unavailable. (They're that good!)

Warm and waterproof! But requires thick socks!

1) Advantages: They are warm and waterproof, I like it very much.
2) Disadvantage: the material of edges on the top is a bit hard and rub sore the bone. There for I usually have to put on thick socks, and when I was wearing thin socks - I used to place cotton wool between my bone and the boot's edge.
