The North Face Hedgehog XCR Low Hiking Shoe - Women's - 2007
The North Face Women's Hedgehog XCR Low Hiking Shoe is an ultra-lightweight multi-sport adventure shoe. The Hedgehog is a streamlined, low-cut shoe built to run, hike, or walk through varying outdoor terrains. The North Face added a lightweight Vibram outsole for unbeatable traction. They also used a super-lightweight EVA midsole, so these shoes feel light as feathers on your feet. The Hedgehog's waterproof sandwich mesh increases breathability, the abrasion-resistant synthetic nubuck upper adds strength and support, and the waterproof breathable Gore-Tex XCR membrane keeps your feet dry in inclement weather.
Bottom Line: The North Face Women's Hedgehog XCR Low Hiking Shoe is equipped for Mother Nature's gnarliest topographic challenges.

I have to say I am pleased with this item. I would recommend it to anyone who needs comfort with great stability for walking shoes, not to mention it's waterproof.!!

These are great looking, lightweight, and supportive approach shoes. They are so flexible that I just ran a 5k in them! I was happy to find that this site stocked the size 11 that I needed (it was not carried by the store where I firt tried them on. The only drawback to this shoe is the attached/pleated tongue which does not flatten out under the laces and can get bunched when the shoe is laced. I found this to be extrememly irritating to the top of the foot with no or thin socks. It's not so bad with a thicker sock but very disappointing since otherwise, this is a great shoe.
Is this the same shoe as the hedgehog GTX XCR womans hiking shoe?

I just walked MANY miles over 6 days in these shoes and they were wonderful. It was freezing, rainy weather and they kept my feet warm and dry! I will be ordering another pair of these! If you are looking for a very durable/versatile shoe these are great ones to try! Highly recommended!!!

I purchased TNF Hedgehog XCR shoes because they are non-leather and waterproof with Gore-Tex (and I really liked what they looked like!). I wear them for light hiking and also for working in a vet clinic because I'm on my feet all day. They are very comfortable and I love them, with only one exception. The tongue makes ridges when I tie the laces (on one shoe) and the ridges dig into the top of my foot so I have to pad it in order to wear them. I still would recommend them highly.

Purchased these shoes as a gift for my mom last fall (Fall 2007) because she wanted a good looking, durable, comfortable hiking shoe. Before I decided on the TNF Hedgehog XCR Low Hiking Shoe - Women's, I looked through a few hiking shoes with excellent customer reviews. Finally decided on these and am very satisfied so far. My mom says they not only feel great on her feet, but they seem to be very durable and well made. Personally, I'm a BIG fan of North Face's shoes, and hearing how much my mom likes these is just one more reason why I like them so much.

Great shoe. Only problem was with rubber sole slipping on certain flooring. i.e. - hard wood floor in a restaurant, while going in shoes slipped while others wearing sneakers had plenty of traction. Probably just a combination of the new and hard rubber sole. Just keep this in mind when you come off the trail and have the shoes on when around town.
love 'em

These shoes are so comfy! I haven't done any trail running in them yet, but have been on some pretty intense hikes. I don't have much to compare them to, but they seem to hold up well through lots of bumps and wetness. So glad I went with North Face, I love 'em!

These shoes grip great on the slickrock sandstone in Southern Utah, but after a couple of hours my feet started to hurt. I put different insoles in them and they are much more comfortable, but I still can't wear them for long periods of time.

The shoes have been excellent. The soles are a little stiffer than I expected, even for a hiking shoe. It feels more like a boot than a shoe. That's not a bad thing though, until it gets cold enough I'm using them almost every other day in the rain without leakage, and then it'll be snow. I'm just wondering how they'll hold up against the salt.

These shoes are terrific. I took them on my 7 day Grand Canyon float trip and they really came through for me. I hiked through all kinds of terrain, including water and they just kept performing. I highly recommend them.

These shoes were wonderful! I purchased them for my trip to Australia and wore them for two weeks straight for everything from walking to strenuous hiking. They were comfortable, lightweight, and perfect for all types of walking/hiking. Thank you!
