The North Face Heron 33 3-Person 3-Season Tent - 2007
Mesh ceiling, front, and rear door panels in The North Face Heron 33 3-Person 3-Season Tent help you and two of your camping buddies breathe fresh air all night when the weather's mild. When the weather isn't so mild, the DWR finish on the Heron 33 Tent's fly blocks moisture so you stay dry. The Heron 33's innovative DAC reverse-combi pole system features a different diameter of metal in different areas of the pole. This, along with the unique pole and hub configuration, changes the tension and alters the arc of the poles, which allows for steeper walls, greater headroom, and maximum use of space. The Heron 33's front and rear vestibules offer extra room to store muddy gear and packs.
Bottom Line: The North Face Heron 33 offers spacious sleeping comfort and plenty of vestibule storage.

Perfect For Two

This is a very well-made tent even for beginner campers like us, light and easy to set up. Even though it says 3, it's probably best for 2 adults. Set up was quick and easy. I tried setting it up at home before taking it out for the trip, it took less than 10 minutes for someone who had never pitched a tent before, on my own.
We used it a couple of times, once was at a camp ground in Indiana and it rained pretty heavily. It kept us dry. The guys at North Face did a great job with the design especially when it comes to ventilation, so no problem with condensation at all.
We love this tent and for the weight, it's good to take out for a hike. For car camping though I'd like to have something roomier and with more head clearance.

It is not clear in the pictures in regards to:1. Is there a sky light with a fly that zips closed2. Are there flys over the two doors which zip closed(flys refer to a non-transparent second layer of fabric that zips closed over the ventilation mesh)Steve

Great Dad w/2 daughters tent

Bought this after I saw a friend's tent. Have used it once for two nights w/my two daughters (ages 9 and 13) and found it fit us very comfortably.
Only used for shelter from wind. no rain testing yet.
Setup of the tent alone is very quick and simple.
Adding the fly and footprint requires a little more thought, but I'll get it eventually.
I particularly like the attention to detail. Specifically:
--The footprint, tent and fly all have one grommet tab which is a different color. Just line those up and you are ready to go.
--About halfway up the fly are velcro loops to tie it to the poles.
--The poles are incredibly simple to put together and the aluminum rings have easy to see "this side up" on it.

Just purchased this tent recently, but I have not used it yet, seems to be a bit heavy. I will write a review after I try it on a backpacking trip. M.C.
