The North Face Lifty GTX 400 Boot - Men's - 2007
The North Face Men's Lifty GTX 400 Boot keeps your toes toasty in the coldest conditions. With 400 grams of PrimaLoft insulation, The North Face rates this boot to -40F. Not only is the Lifty Gore-Tex lined, it is also fully seam sealed. Not a drop of moisture is getting these suckers. They also have D-ring gator attachments so you can keep them completely sealed off from the elements. A Winter Grip outsole gives you excellent traction on slippery terrain. Your toes will never be cold again with the Lifty GTX.
Bottom Line: Ever wonder how lifties manage to stand outside in the snow all day and maintain such a pleasant demeanor? Most likely they're wearing the Lifty GTX.

BOUGHT THESE BOOTS EVERY YEAR !!!
By: Joey B

I bought this boot for the last 3 years. It keeps my feet very warm, even sitting down! They are light and the traction is great! This is the boot that one has to rely in wet, cold, and snowy conditions. I would continue on buying these boots every single year!
I love these boots!

I bought these boots because of their "hiking boot" appearance, which I thought would allow me to use them for a broader variety of cold weather applications than my trusty "snow boot" Sorels. What I didn't expect was for the the North Face boots to perform so well in so many varied conditions. I have used the boots in temperatures ranging from 60 degrees down into the single digits and have found the boots to be quite comfortable throughout the entire temperature spectrum and as an added bonus they're totally waterproof. One of the most surprising features is how supportive they are given there light weight and great insulative properties. I have used them for overnight snow camping trips in the Sierras while carrying a light pack (25 lbs) and they have performed flawlessly- I wouldn't try carrying a pack with my Sorels, they're just not supportive enough. Good job North Face- these boots are serious performing snow boots without the typical "snow boot" appearance. I use them nearly everyday in the Winter months whether I'm strolling the paved streets in the snow/rain or in the backcountry looking for a new adventure... a definite 5 on the ranking!
Great Boot, Wrong Color

I originally ordered these boots in the Black, which ended up looking awful, IMHO. But I was able to find them in the lighter khaki color and they were great, warm, dry, and good looking too.

I just got these boots and used them on an ice fishing trip. The temperature really warmed up during mid-day and made the top layer of snow slushy only to re-freeze in the late afternoon. My feet stayed warm and dry throughout. I would definitely recommend these boots.
Best Cold Weather Work Boots EVER!!

I work construction in the midwest and have to put up with some pretty harsh conditions. I have had two pairs of Eccos that were $200.00 a pair. These Lifty boots are warmer and more comfortable than both of the Eccos. I have recommended these to all the guys I work with and 4 guys have bought them and feel the same about them as I do. In short, if you work outside in the winter these are th boots for you. Don't waste your time or money on anything else. I will need to see how long they last but if they can make it to next winter that is about as much as I expect out of any work boot. I wear them everyday and they go through some serious work. THANKS!!
No more cold feet!!!

Took a short hike in 3in snow this weekend with air temp around 20deg and my feet were nice and toasty. Waded a small creek and feet were bone dry and warm. Comfortable to hike in, had the top lace a bit too tight at first and had some shin rub but fixed that right away and all was good. These are great for winter hiking, shoveling the snow, sledding, or kicking it around town. I even tried them with my crampons and my snowshoes and they performed great.
Lifty GTX 400 Boot is Great Winter Hiker

I recently purchased the North Face Lifty GTX 400 boots and am glad I did. They took no break-in time. I wore them on a 6 mile winter jaunt and a 15 mile overnight backpacking snowshoe hike. Very comfortable, good heal cup, no movement = no blisters. They are very warm too, and kept my feet dry. The temperature that day ranged from 8 to 18 degrees and windy and we had had 8" of fresh snow. Highly recommended.

this shoe was perfect! It was light, non-restrictive and kept me warm on an all-day hiking/sledding trip. lots of powder, but nothing got into my shoes. the traction was great on the snow too! Definitely a good buy

Purchased for my wife who always complains of cold feet. She has put in about 15 hours (over a 3 day period) of hiking in the snow says they're the best winter boots she ever had. Comfortable, warm, waterproof, and supportive. No complaints.
Lightweight and very warm

I just got them and have gone out into the snow at sub-zero temps. Traction was no problem. I was quite impressed that a boot so light could be so warm. And because it is such a light boot hiking was easy.

Got these boots for winter hiking and snowshoeing. Unlike pack boots, they have great ankle support that is essential on steep terrain. Yet they are still as warm as any boots I've owned. Probably best for lower volume feet.
great warm or cold weather

I just bought the Lifty 400's. They are a little stiff at first but loosen up nicely. The boots really do keep your feet warm. I have already worn them in -18C and just today in 2C walking on slushy water filled sidewalks and my feet didn't sweat. Absolutely perfect!

Check out this website, I used the Lifty GTX 400 during the Iditarod Trail Invitational last week, I only have positive comments, the shoes performed well above my expectations, with temperature as low as -35F and wind gusting at 45 mile per hour, the North Face shoes kept my toes warm, many other racers had frostbite, I also pushed my single speed Pugsley from Surly Bikes more than 150 miles and didn't even get a single blister, what more can I ask for!
Thanks for selling top of the line outdoor equipment.

I just wore these boots in Lake Tahoe snowmobiling in the mountains and they worked very well. In deep powder and cold weather my feet stayed dry and warm. The boots are a little stiff at first but quickly become more flexible. They also provide good traction in slippery packed snow.
Great Boots!

I have used these on several multi-day overnight hikes in the winter with below-freezing temperatures, with no cold feet. They have worked great with the snow shoes and crampons I own, and the traction has been very good on all sorts of terrain. I would buy these boots again.

These are the best boots ever. Feels like you are in high dollar running shoes. They are too warm to wear wool socks in! I do not know how they do it but I would buy 10 pairs to last the rest of my life if I could.
Great Winter Boots!

Once I got the right size (went with 11 although I wear size 10 shoes), I could not be more pleased.
I wear them nearly every day (northwest lower Michigan is cold and snowing 3-4 months per year). Great for taking walks in the snow on hilly terrain. A nice pair of gators will get through anything. Footing is solid with nice ankle support. Arch support is solid and they keep the cold out from the bottom/snow.
I wore them last weekend while standing around for 2 hours watching my kids ski in 10 degree F weather. I taped a hand warmer to the tops of my toes and my feet roasted. I could have stood around for 3 more hours.

I purchased these boots for work in the snowy and icy conditions of Lake Tahoe. They keep my feet warm and dry for hours and hours. I am glad that I read the reviews and bought a half size bigger, they fit perfectly. The North Face engineers are genius!
Poor sizes

Don't order these unless you have narrow feet, very narrow. I gave it two shots at different sizes up from mine and still too small. But, I'm very happy with the Salomon GTX, and they're lighter too.
Awesome Boot!

These boots are incredible. Spent most of the day outside today - wicked snow storm in Upstate NY, 9 degrees F, -10 with the wind - feet warm & dry as can be all day. Boots are also very comfortable, little stiff at first but break in fast. I Read a review that these were not true to size, customer service rep assured me they were- he was right, the reviewer was crazy. I wear a 10 in every shoe I own, bought these in a 10 and they fit perfect. Couldn't be more happy with them.
Excellent grip, warmth, and weight.

These are the best winter boots that I have owned to date. They seem only a bit heavier than my high-top The North Face hiking boots. My feet have never been so warm in the snow, even with a lightweight sock. The winter grip greatly reduces unintentional ice-skating. I would definitely buy these again.

These boots are one of my best winter purchases! Great traction on the slippery ice and snow. Very warm! Great for snow-shoeing, walking around town, playing in the snow, and feel great (like slippers) after a long day on the slopes!
just what I needed

I work for a high adventure wilderness program in which I am out backpacking through utah every other week. On one week I was unprepared when a big snowstorm snuck in and I was forced to spend the week hiking in a pair of snowboard boots. After a week of pain and uncomfortableness like that, I told myself that would never happen again. I bought these boots for their all aroundness to cover all of the winter activites that I do. I have taken them out on the trail for three weeks of adventure now and I am very satisfied. These are very warm and comfortable and don't give you the clunky heavy winter boot feel... I highly recomeend these due to their versitility, warmth and comfort over long hikes. And they look pretty futuristic as well.

I bought these boots for my husband's birthday - he needed a good pair of waterproof winter boots. He did not like them because of the unevenness of the soles of the boots - they angle sharply at the toe. He said walking in them felt like walking in ski boots. Maybe this is appealing to others...not him.
