SmartWool Adrenaline Mid Crew Hiking Sock

While the idea of the SmartWool Men's Adrenaline Medium Crew Sock probably won't get your blood flowing (unless you have some sort of sock fetish), you have to admit that these are some teched out socks. SmartWool's SmartFit System gives you lots of arch and ankle support, while padding at the sole and Achilles brings your feet comfort for the trail. Variable knits and a special blend of merino wool and nylon bolster warmth in cool weather and aid in breathability when you're working hard. This makes the Adrenalines great for intense activities like mountain biking, snowshoeing, or skate skiing.

Bottom Line: Comfort/support endorphins for your feet.

Great, but hot

If your feet overheat like mine, they can get VERY uncomfortable in warmer weather. As soon as it cools off mind you they can't be beaten.

The perfect sock

My favorite socks. They're great for hiking and winter wear. Very durable and hold up better than other brands. I wear mine all the time and love them!

Perfect sock - warm or cold weather

By:

I bought these because of other reviews I had seen - they all turned out to be true. Comfortable, airy, wicking/moisture absorbing, no matter how much hiking they did not smell (oddly enough) and when I had to buy brand new boots on the fly, I didn't blister at all. Could be a combination of the socks and the shoes, but I'm gonna give credit to both. Awesome buy, totally worth it.

A new favorite ...maybe

By:

Saw these on sale and thought I would take a chance; liked the wool/nylon mix ratio. I usually buy Patagonia socks only... but these were a good buy so I thought I would try them. These have a totally different feel: cool and airy, but seriously padded where it counts. The first couple times out they performed really well. No bunching or slipping. Felt more like a down comforter than a wool blanket. Nice countour to the trail boots. Can't yet talk to durability, but like Patagonia the company guarantees them so I am not worried. A new favorite? Maybe. A good alternative to Patagonia with a lighter, airier feel? Yes, definitely.

You'll never wear cotton again

These socks manage moisture so well. I was surprised at how well they supported my foot too. They kept my feet warm when I needed them too and didn't allow my feet to overheat when the weather got warm. The only reason reason I'm not giving them a five is that I wish they were a little less pricey....but if you spring for them I doubt you'll be disappointed.
