suunto hrm

What an incredible hrm, it has so many options and very easy to use. Its a much better looking hrm/watch then any other brand. I have gotten many complements on my watch. The hrm strap is ok, comfortable only after you have been wearing a while. The down side however is its plastic face, very to easy to scratch. In addition, the instruction manual is not very clear and to small print and it is in comparison to other hrm more expensive.

iI am looking to step up from a basic HR monoitor to rither the garmin Forerunner 405, or the suunto t3c or t4. For those of you that have a HR moniter and GPS unit, do you prefer the GPS be in the watch or in a pod? Any recommendations for one of these monoitors over the other? Are any more comfortable for a women's wrist?

Neat HRM

It's my first HRM. It's a nice watch and easy to use. The interface is pretty straight forward. I bought a GPS pod to mate with the T4. Positives: Easy to use. The pods interface fairly easily to the watch. Stylish. The coach is nice for a beginner to HRMs like myself. I don't have to really think too much about what my next workout should be like. I just look at the Coach and follow the advice. Negatives: Nylon strap sucks. Plastic faceplate easy to scratch up. I would like to know how the Coach plans my workouts. Things that I would be interested in seeing: More features. If I compare this watch to other electronics I own, I don't see how an HRM can or should be this expensive. Maybe with a color screen and built in mp3 player it should cost $200...it doesn't make sense to me. But to be fair, the other HRMs at this price have similar # of features. Also, I wish I could program it for working out with weights as well as cardio. I like strength training as well as cardio. It's not really taken into account when you train using the T4 coach.

very nice HR monitor

Well. Suunto t4 is a very nice and easy to use HR monitor. Suunto Coach is a good feature, as well as the option to pair the pods and see your data on the pc. It's also stylish, it can be used for a lot of situations as a watch also. Although looking nice, the nylon wristband gets dirty very easily if you sweat a lot.
