A dimpled (think golf ball texture) knit on the Sugoi Men's RS Shorts lessens friction and increases the aerodynamics of these shorts on race and training days. The fabric stretches and has a firm fit so your muscles can work efficiently throughout your ride. The RS Shorts' chamois includes serious high-density vibration-dampening pads, four-way stretch side panels that mold to your body, and a perforated welded center channel for pressure relief on long rides. Ten panels give these Sugoi bike shorts a comfortable, anatomical fit.

what is the "weight" of the Ultra Aero fabric?

The fabric is super light at 5.5 oz/sq/yd and has an "Oh my gosh I look and feel like a spaceman. And damn I look good!" feel to it.

Here's the marketing pitch that Sugoi foists about their Ultra Aero fabric:
Ultra Aero is a dimensionally-constructed knit with a dimpled or golf ball-like surface to create less friction and superior aerodynamics when moving through the air. The firm stretch and recovery provides a high-tenacity fit to keep muscles energized and working efficiently during extreme conditions.
